I have a student at the University Square and have tried many times to speak to the owner, not the leasing manager or the students who work the desk. We have had many problems since we have moved in. First, they showed us a model and told us ours would look the same. We had it reserved early in the summer. When we got there we were not on the list. They promised us a room on a certain floor, and they did not honor that promise. When we finally got in the room, the carpet was black with filth, the refrigerator nor the microwave worked and we were promised a chair that has yet to come. The walls are nasty dirty. The halls are so loud that you have to go to the library to study. Not all the electrical outlets work. The back parking lot is dark and there are no cameras to help with safety. For over three weeks the shuttle did not work due to an insurance problem, so we had to walk to UNCG. The printer in the comp lab does not work, hallways are never vacuumed, stairwells are dirty, and the side door does not work. There is no on site manager, only college students. We asked for non smoking and clearly we were put in a room which still smells of smoke. The internet is frequently out or it is slow. Shall I go on. I am paying $500.00/ month and not getting my monies worth. I received a late notice for the last two months threatening a late charge, but we pay on time each andd every month. I need to speak to an owner not the leasing manager because I have left messages and have not had a return call. best of luck getting in touch with the owner...ur best bet is to go down stairs and tell them you want to cancel your lease, no charges attach, and you want ur deposit back. GET EVERY THING IN WRITING, KEEP ALL STUBS FOR PAYMENTS AND ALL LETTERS YOU HAVE RECIEVED FROM THEM. If all else fails most lawyers will talk to you on what to do. let them know you are planning to talk to one....500 is too much to pay for that s*** hole!!! if you have ne question i am ranajo23, send me an im sometime and ill talk to you. i am a graduate of UNCG and lived at u square for 2 years. bye
