I moved in for only a couple of months and within the first two weeks I lived here, I found out that nothing they tell you upon moving in is true. THEY LIE AND MISLEAD YOU TO GET YOU IN HERE. The lobby looks all nice and the model room they show you looks great, but your room will look nothing like this, it will be painted white, not blue or green like the model, and with the tackiest paint ever. The carpet smells like urine.
I cannot stand this place. If you are just looking for a whole in the wall then this is the perfect place for you. Do not belive the brochures, the signs they have posted or what they tell you. Ask to see your actual room before you move in and im sure you will change your mind
The maintenance staff is lazy, Ive had two people come up to fix things in my room and they came in and told me that everything looks fine and their was nothing that needed to be done! They made excuses for everything that I said needed to be fixed, They found an excuse to tell me why it didnt need fixing. The room was half cleaned when i moved in, with sticky stuff, similiar to a soda spill all over my furniture. If they cleaned the room at all I wouldnt have had to clean it again once i moved in.
RIDICULOUS!
The hot water and the a/c has gone out with the weather being over 90 degrees. It took forever to fix it. And the hot water still only functions when it wants to. They do not care about you here. They care about your money.
I was told that aUNCG shuttle shuttle would be running this summer for those students who attend summer school. THAT WAS A LIE! They had the schedule posted and everything. It still is not running. Unless you want to walk to class in 90 degree weather DO NOT LIVE HERE.
IT is unsafe the backdoors are always open so anyone can get into the building. THIS IS NOT SAFE. This is the noisiest place Ive ever lived in. And no one controls the noise around here. There are fire drills in which you will be outside for a minimun of thirty minutes to an hour.
DO NOT BE MISLEAD OR BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU. Find someone who lives here on your own and ask them their honest opinion.
Everyone who lives here is not a student. ANYONE CAN LIVE HERE. INCLUDING several PERVERTS! GROWN MEN LIVING IN STUDENT HOUSING IS NOT COOL, or safe.
U HAVE TO PAY FOR LAUNDRY. INTERNET SUCKS. ONLY WIRELESS SO I HOPE YOU HAVE A LAPTOP OR ELSE YOU WILL HAVE NO INTERNET. THERE IS A SMALL COMPUTER LAB WITH ONLY 6 COMPUTERS AND THE PRINTER DOESNT WORK. THE COMPUTERS SHUT DOWN EVERY 45 MINUTES, SO YOU MAY LOSE YOUR WORK. CABLE CONSISTS OF ABOUT 3O CHANNELS. NO PHONE SERVICE. SO BE READY TO USE YOUR CELL PHONE

First of all, the model rooms aren't even painted blue or green--you must be colorblind. Seriously. And yeah, the air went out. It got fixed in like two days, NOT forever. So get your time straight. A shuttle was supposed to run this summer, but think about it. Gas prices are high, and that's a big-ass shuttle. Would YOU want to spend $50.00 a DAY to fill up the gas tank? No? Then shut the hell up.
Yeah, there are fire drills. EVERY APARTMENT HAS FIRE DRILLS, DUMBASS. If you want to stay in your room while the entire building burns to the ground then be my guest.
And if you're that mad about older people (who ARE students, by the way), then move the ---- on out. MOST apartment complexes make you pay for laundry, or go off the premises to pay MORE for laundry. And it's just a damn dollar to wash and dry! Get the hell over yourself! The world does NOT revolve around you, if you haven't figured it out.
And learn how to ------- spell.

I agree with this review and I must admit I could not have said it better myself... I am a little jealous you get 30 channels. I get like 8, and that is on a good day. As for the first response, you need to calm down. Why are you so angry? Sounds like you took a cold shower that randomly burned your skin at University Square, but it is O.K. I get mad too. The model rooms may not be painted, but I would not know I was never offered to see that, only a brochure with lies!!! That air conditioning and hot water problem took longer than 2 days boo boo. I know at the end of May, in that 90 degree weather, it went out on a Thursday and was back on the next Wednesday, sounds like you need to get YOUR time straight, but it happens, with the air going out all of the time it must mess with you some how, right? As for the shuttle, I do agree that gas is high, but are you serious about 6 trips to campus (a 20 min round trip at most and I know b/c I have been on it before) is really going to use $50.00? Sounds like you got told by the manager that excuse, because that is not it, get your facts then talk. Also, the fire drills at bad hours are mainly from someone pulling them down. University Square does not show an interest in whether or not we can handle a fire, and you are being a little dramatic. When I moved in here, I had to prove I was a student, had a background check and had my credit pulled. On that note, not all of those people that are older are students. Take a step back and think about that, because the 38 year old man that climbed over all of our balconies to jump into the pool from the 5th floor was not a student, and neither was his roommate.
Any place that I have ever been to has charged the same amount for laundry that is charged here, BUT most laundry mats and other apartment complexes will let you know if a machine is broken so you don't waste that dollar that you find to not be a big deal to pay for washing and another for drying. I do not mind paying for it, but I hate hearing "we will get to it" when I complain and then nothing is done. I would not tell this person to learn to spell when you sound very ignorant typing out profanity on a site that parents look on to try to find decent housing for their students. You should be ashamed!!!

I totally agree with the reviewer do not live here!! All my tires were slashed the first day I was there and they did nothing to help this. It is a shady hole in the wall, I felt so unsafe that I lived with my boyfrend a lot of the time. They were constantly changing managements. When my lease was up they would not give me my security deposit back even though when they looked through my room at move out they said it looked great. So I kept asking and they would say it was in the mail it never came. If my sister had not been a lawyer and had not sent them at least five written letters threatening to take them to court they would not have sent the check. Just before she filed they finally sent the check. It is overpriced, cheap, and more work than it is worth for nothing more than a glorified dorm room. (seriously you can find something much cheaper and with better ammenities if you just look) While I do not want to refute the opinions of the first responder because they obviously have some crazy loyaly (not to mention anger issues) to The Square I want to warn someone like me who did not know any better. Ask a million questions before you sign anything and be wary!
