I live at The Square it is not nearly as bad as these reviews claim. The facilities are nice, you get your own space and personal bathroom (unlike any dorm I lived it) and the utilites are all included in the price. There have been tremendous steps forward over the last 12-24 months. The lobby has been redone, the building repainted, the game room and fitness rooms are all completely remodeled and nice. There is a pool available for use and plenty of parking on site. I am very satisfied with the property and the price is very affordable. It is true that there have been changes in management but the new people seem to be very confident and willing to help. They are currently remodeling a common area to be opened as a lounge as well. Overall i am very satisfied. Most of these negative reviews seem to be way out of proportion from people who apparently have never lived in a student property. It may not always be as quiet as a library, but I wouldn't want to have to live in a library anyways.

Lived here?

I have lived in dorms on campus, in an apartment right off campus and now I live here. This is by far the worse place. All of these "new" renovations has nothing to do with the current management. I have lived at University Square for 2 years. The first year was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. There may have been remodeling going on, but it is most important to me that I get what I pay for. The utilities are included, right? Then why do we go days at a time without hot water and air conditioning like we did not pay our bill? The pool you speak so highly of is closed more than it is open. The game room has slowly gotten in worse shape than it was before the new management came in. Also in the fitness room, which I will admit looks nice, has had a broken machine for over nine months. They also have been remodeling that lounge area for well over a year now. I did not know it took that long to fix something that was not broken. When there are complaints made to the staff, about hot water, air conditioning, maintenance or any other concern, we are usually told they will be working on it or they just do not know. If you are lucky to find the manager, who always seems to not be in the building, she pushes you away and is completely rude. She has no professional, customer service skills. I really miss the way things were when this facility was ran like a housing facility, with proper records and attention towards Greensboro housing codes. Even if something went wrong it was fixed soon after, not a week later. I do not think this place is worth the money. I do not see what I am paying for... one more thing... cable may be included, but it is still not worth it, you could get better for cheaper. University Square needs better management, and I am sure that the rest will only improve, simply because it has not always been this bad.
