I lived in Woodstream from 06-07 and it was not a good experience. The 2 bedroom apartment we saw as the model of course looked better than what you were getting. The easier to reel you in. During the time I lived there someone was carjacked at gunpoint. I guess the cop car parked up in the front entrance is suppose to make you feel safer. Still isn't something I want to see everyday I came home. I didn't have a problem with any of neighbors or any other tenants there. The staff on the other hand is a different story. They were rude, inconsiderate and stuck up. If you had a maintenance problem hope you didn't want to get it fixed in a hurry. Once it was finally fixed good luck on not having to call again for the same problem. The grounds were finally starting to look nice when I was moving out but it's obvious part of the "reeling you in" procedure. My roommate and I gave Woodstream a 90 day notice that we would be moving out after our 1 year lease is up. It was typed, signed and dated by both of us. We also kept a copy. I call to get the pro-rated rent amount. I was told that we didn't give a notice of moving out. We were then asked did we have a copy of the letter, we did. After we took the letter up there we were later informed by a note on the door that 90 days wasn't good enough and we still needed to give a 30 day notice. Not to mention we were giving the pro-rated rent amount by another staff member who wasn't trying to give us a hard time because we cooperated with everything and followed the contract. By this time it's less than a month from move out date. We didn't give a 30 day notice b/c we were doing them a favor by giving them a 90 day and then the copy as we were asked. We paid our pro-rated rent amount and moved out. We weren't going to get caught up in their scam to try and get us to pay for another month. As some people did that I read about in previous reviews. Needless to say I would not recommend this place to anyone. I wish I would have read the reviews before I moved in. Hopefully they are helpful to people looking to move here.
