I ended up living in Woodstream for almost 3 years due to my financial situation. If I could have moved within the first lease term I most certain would. The first year I was there they replace pipes and cut out all sheetrock around all pipes. There was white dust everywhere and I had 2 parakeets and one died and the other had breathing problems. (the office only told us to move pets to another room, nothing about covering up nor nothing about all the white dust that was going to be EVERYWHERE. I told the office about taking birds to vet but no response - just sorry.
Was told I was to get a carpet cleaning when I signed another year lease but when I requested it a couple of times - no response. They charged me $50 carpet cleaning fee when I moved out of course.
The windows never did work. Either they would stick and couldn't go down or you had to use a pole to keep them up.
Had to get maintenance out due to mold build up on side of tub/shower. They just covered it up with paint and it just came back and looked even worst.
The door to the laundry area never did work right, maintenance was call numerous times but they would only put it back on the track instead of correcting the problem.
The pool would be green a few times and they would still let tenants swim in the water for several days before they actually would shut it down for cleaning.
We had to call the law numerous times on noisy neighbors and non-residents hanging out in the parking lot late at night.
Rent was raised $45 in 2 yrs and no upgrades were ever done. (just to the landscape and the office got new furniture)
All the cabinets looked about 50 years old and should have been replaced. They sagged in the middle and in much need of paint.
Some of the lights inside the ceiling wall did not have a cover over them.
The concrete outside of doorway were cracked and stained with paint or other chemicals.
The light on the outside did not have a cover on it for over 2 years.
In the lease it said white window treatments such as mini blinds and no subsitution are to be used, and they would let tenants use tackey looking curtains and not blinds on the windows.
I could go on and on but I think I have got my point across.
The whole management/maintenance staff need to be replace with trained professionals and the builings all need a good overhaul INSIDE AND OUT.
