My fiance and I have been living here for several months, and it's been great. Maintenance responds quickly. Though I would not recommend running around alone for hours at night (though there are VERY few places I would do that) I feel safe running to my car in the middle of the night, especially since we have friendly neighbors. Apparently there were a lot more problems with crime before the new company took over. My biggest complaint is the people who do not pick up after their dogs.
