Let me say this. The reviews that have been posted are more than likely true. I lived in Lakeside for two years with minimal contact with Shiv. I kept it that way because of the reviews that I read and wanting to avoid the drama. I am waiting to see the response that Shiv makes to my very valid and very honest remarks.
1. My deposit was not returned within the 30 days by state law, nor did I receive an account of any damages within this time. When I did call to get the issue addressed he was very RUDE. Today is the 31st day and he admitted to mailing my deposit on this day. I am VERY pleased that it will be postmarked on the 31st day because this may not be the last that he hears from me especially if he is claiming damages.
2. It is nothing to have to wait two and three days to have problems in the apartments fixed. It is nothing to be met with rudeness when putting in a request.
3. The neighborhood has done a 180 since I moved there. The breaking point for me was the lady next door frying FISH WITH THE FRONT DOOR OPEN!!! The noise and the "hanging out" in the parking lot are unbearable.
4. The day that I moved out we had to manuver around the empty 6 pack of beer left on the bottom of the steps covered in vomit.
The apartment layout is nice, parking is adequate and they do make an effort to keep the grass mowed--but that is about it.
AS A SINGLE FEMALE I QUESTIONED THE SAFETY OF THE APARTMENT COMPLEX.
All management has to do is offer some law enforcement discounts and have some officers do some moonlighting in lieu of rent. That would help a lot and it is simple. I realize that management can not control what goes on in the neighborhood behind Lakeside, but he can do something to stop random kids hanging out all hours of the night. Coming in from work at 2am and seeing a gang of kids in the parking lot is not a good feeling and I carry a weapon and had fear of having to use it to get in my own house!!
For the price of this "luxury" apartment Greenville has a lot more to offer and I suggest you keep looking.
