Hi renters
Allow me the pleasure of introducing you to hell-I mean Pirate's Place. Let's cut to the chase, this IS a college apartment place -so don't look for peace and quiet here. Secondly, their first impression was TERRIBLE. In me and my roommates first week, we used the washer and the apartment flooded, how you ask, their smart staff plugged the drainage hose of the washer -into the hollow part of the wall. We had to have extremely loud high-powered dryers on for 2 STRAIGHT WEEKS. The apartment never recovered as far as the smell goes or color of the carpet. It is an old establishment (things fell apart, chipped paint, etc...), plus there is way too much new competition out there now as far as amenities and location go. And folks, it gets better. Security, never responded to any incident for noise complaints, I can bear some noise and college enjoyment, but around the 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning range is ridiculous. BUT, they were quick to respond to an argument -NOT FIGHT- between my friend and some roaming stranger (one of the many you will find out) -WITH 6 COP CARS! Where they "barged" my apartment threatened us with jail time, without even finding out it was a argument -not a punch was thrown or threatened. This complaint goes both ways, Cops never responded to the break-inS (yes plural -they happened TWICE in under 3 months) at my apartment! Remember this is a complaint on Pirate's Place so listen to this, PIRATES PLACE PINNED THE BREAK IN and BLAME ON "US" -THE RESIDENTS! We were billed to pay for all the doors kicked in even with a long awaited police report. In fact, in our conversations with the sympathetic staff, they slipped in their logic and reasoning for why we "would" have done it (Yes on the side they work as crime scene investigators). Make sure you pick up your jaw before you finish this story. You're probably wondering why no compensation or revenge, I don't have money to waste on lawyers because I schooled/worked full-time just trying to get by. I help my sister take care of her nephew so she can get by on my free time.
This story, is yes, entirely true. I felt I needed for someone to see this review and hope they simply make the decision to pass up Pirates Place so that in the end, I somehow feel in peace and get the last laugh. Here's to new management Pirate's Place. They lost a good resident who left the apartment as it was given, got along with its neighbors, and paid all rent in full and on time.
Be smart people, I'm from outside Greenville, every Eastern Carolina crime report comes from Greenville -invest in a safe community and read reviews (hopefully none like this one in your potential home your interested in). Don't believe the YES reviews, if the staff is good at one thing it might as well be manipulating -THEY ARE ALLOWED TO POSE AS A, you know -"REVIEWER". Enjoy your house hunting

I had a similar experience, I suggest you file a complaint with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
