Ok, I've been here way too long - 4 yrs.
#1 - Not recommended for family. Kids are noisy. Kids are loud. That's just the way they are. You can hear nearly everything that goes on outside your apt and from downstairs or upstairs. People will complain about the noise. I have intentionally avoided having my teenage daughter and any of her friends over because I know I will constantly need to remind them to tread lighty on the floor, don't talk too loud, and keep the TV volume turned down - forget the stereo by all means.
#2 - Peace and Quiet; forget it. When I can hear great big AM moan come from a person below me on the second floor in the bathroom, umm well that says it all. Which brings me back to #1. See below.
This must be a very poorly built structure as far as insulation and noise reduction is concerned. When I can hear when my "neighbor" (neighbors) come home and i can hear their movements throught the apt below - like they're in the Kitchen, oh, now they've gone to the bathroom - oh, now they are putting away clothes in the bedroom. Yeah, not only are the walls too thin but the floors are also. This in turn limits me to my freedom because I don't want to be a noisy neighbor with my everyday activity. Not to mention cigarette smoke. I don't smoke. I don't care if anyone else does so either. I just don't want to smell it in my apt. I can open up any cabinet below the three sinks in this place and you'd think I crawled in there and smoked a pack of "cigs" - especially in the bathrooms where the smell gets into my towels.
I recommend Laurel Springs Apartment Homes for college age kids and people that just don't care to have a quiet peaceful life.

I agree with the whole noise idea. I have several neighbors with loud kids. Its not so much the fault of the walls as it is the parents. Consideration for others and knowing the difference between inside and outside voices is important. I have had to deal with my own little one being bothered by other children because they have no manners and wake my family up constintly. Most of the families are not from around this area and dont seem to care if they are being loud or rude. The managment does not live on site so they dont care. The thinness of the walls is so bad I can hear word for word the conversation of the people next door, snooring, alarm clocks, and cars on the other side of the parking lot honking. It is a slap up construction job. If you like the noise of the gheto you will find it here. If you love rude people and wild kids with no manners or raising youll love it here. I cant wait to take my quiet family the hell away from here
