Current Resident giving an honest review

Often I read reviews on here that seem biased one way or the other. Either the apartment manager is writing a perfect 5 or someone who had one bad experience is giving a 1. I just thought it might be helpful to have an average residents opinion, especially since I have lived in many apartments in the area over my time being in the chapel hill/durham area.
Parking - Lots of parking! If you are worried about your vehicle, you can rent a reasonably priced garage here but it's a safe area so probably no need.
Noise - Side to Side is very quiet which is shocking to me. Most apartments have very thin walls which can be a huge pain but not this one. Up and Down is a different story. I can hear everything above me which did absolutely suck at first. I'm not really bothered by noise so I gave a 2 but some might say 1 here. The upstairs noise really is that bad. It's simple walking to television noise, and my neighbor upstairs isn't partying or anything, they are just hanging out. I'd pick the 3rd floor if moving here to eliminate this totally.
Grounds - The community in general is beautiful and very well kept. There is even a dog park if you have pets. In fact, I would say that of all the places I have seen or lived at, this is the most pet friendly by far. The grass is well kept and the bushes may need some watering but they are looking pretty good. They even have bird feeders outside for a more of a home like feel. I took off a star for litter. Not so much the apartment complex as the residents. I notice a lot of litter(cig. packs, plastic soda bottles, etc.). The elderly are always out picking it up which is nice but they shouldn't have to. My neighbors also leave their trash out on the deck and other stuff and in any other apartment complex they would have a whopping fine(which they should here but they don't).
Safety - Generally well lit and lots of safety codes for late night use of the business center and fitness center. Again I took one star away(some might take off two) because my main complaint is the neighborhood kids. They are always gathering(i.e. in front of the main office in the road) or playing in the parking lot. As these are older kids, this may be deemed as unsafe. Also, as mentioned in another review, people have been trying to sneak in to the main center and to the pool. I wouldn't call that sort of atmosphere ,security locks or not, ideal. Internally, there are sprinkler systems and security systems which makes your personal dwelling very safe.
Construction - The places are pretty new. So needless to say, the construction is nice. My personal place has a big crack in the cabinets so that isn't a good thing but probably from the vibrations from upstairs haha. This place uses the same type of molding and plastic railing as any other place. No complaints. Nothing special so 4 stars for "well-built".
Maintenance - I haven't had anything break so can't say I know what their repair record is like. I have had items installed and they were very intelligent and quick about the whole process. So without more knowledge i'll give it a perfect score as the other reviews have led me to believe nothing different thus far.
Staff - I will include hours of office here. Most apartments have the worst staff on the planet just ask any resident. This one is different. There are always the same people in the office which is very nice. They are reasonable people. Not always the most courteous but I don't expect too much from apartment staff. So I am very very impressed by the staff. I don't like the hours though. Most offices are open on the weekends. This is not. If no hours on the weekend then you would expect one night of the week for the office to be open later say till 6:30 or something. They aren't. So this makes picking up packages(since mailboxes are tiny you will frequently) and asking questions very difficult. So minus a star here as well. I would take off two but there is talk about weekend hours.
Overall, even though I took off a bit here and there, I have to give this place 5 stars. All other apartments have noise issues or staff issues. It comes with the renting territory. This place is great and I really enjoy living here. You have to come to at least see how enormous the rooms are. Thank goodness there isn't a check box for the local area because that would change the whole system haha. If you are a professional looking to commute to a local job, this place is great. The price is better than any in durham or chapel hill and it is so much better. I hope this helps!

they no longe raccept packages for you and the post office WON'T deliver them to you. Kinda makes you think why on earth did I just pay $10 shipping on somehting I have to go pick up?.
The grounds are also noit kept up this year. Maybe because they are bankrupt? They should still have someone pick up the litter and cigerette butts all over along with the dog and cat poo poo
the prices have went up A LOT! I think Chapel Hill would be cheaper
it's NOT SAFE EITHER see the crime reports from the police station
I'm not sure but I don't think they are doing backgound checks on people anymore either because there are a lot of riff raff here in the last 6 months or so. BE WARE!
