My husband and I had never experienced apartment living before moving here two years ago. We decided when our children got married before we downsized to a smaller home, we would give apartment living a try. Our only regret since moving into The Fairways at Birkdale : not having done it sooner. I never knew that the office staff, who were total strangers to us before we moved in, could go out of their way to make certain we are comfortable and happy! We didnt realize what a relief it would be to know that if something breaks we don't have to worry about fixing it or waiting days for the repairman to come fix it. The maintenance men are always right there waiting to fix anything the residents need. And not to mention everyone is so nice here. My wife and I were both gardeners and we were certain that we would miss that in an apartment. But we have a wonderful patio from which we have hung plants and beautiful containers filled with vibrant flowers and an herb garden. This makes us feel right at home. In addition to that we look out our windows at the impeccable landscape. The management does a wonderful job maintaining this year round. Our property has tons of mature trees and bushes so you don't feel like you are looking at another building or stuck on a bulldozed lot with a bunch of buildings stuck on it. We love the convienance of being able to walk across the street to shops and restaurants. There is even a movie theather over there. You would never really have to get in a car if you didnt want. Also we love golf and the Birkdale Golf Course is directly across from our home. We love to walk over and play a few holes and then be able to come back home. We truely love this place and it will be our "HOME" for many years to come.
