When my husband and I moved here the Charleston Place Apts had just opened up and they had apts available so we moved right in. We had to get a two bedroom apt because the one bedroom apt was just WAY TOO SMALL, but the two bedroom is very nice. I like that at night the parking lot is lit up. My husband really likes that as well. I like my apt but I ABSOLUTELY HATE MY NEIGHBORS. All day and all night they make noise. You can hear everything they do. You can hear them walk, talk, open and close doors and if you're quiet enough you even hear them turn on a light switch. They also keep me up past midnight and it's very annoying. I've let the people at the office know about this since it started happening and they claimed that they were letting them know but the neighbors NEVER got quiet. Finally, one morning I called up there and told them how noisy they were and that my husband and I were fed up with it and we were threatening to call the cops on them and all they did was send them a letter. Surprise, surprise that didn't work but we've just learned to deal with it. Another thing that is annoying is the business center. They only have two computers and during the office hours you can usually go up there and get a computer, but once they're closed and it's around 7 or 8 at night, don't expect to get to use one. Most of the time there are people there and they just stare at you when you walk in and they don't offer to let you use the computer or anything. So you will leave and come back like an hour later and the SAME people are there STILL using the computers. They're not doing anything important while on the computer. They're usually on myspace listening to music and playing games. These people will stay on ALL night and it's so annoying. If you have a laptop that gets wireless internet I suggest taking it. For one, you will use a computer and get whatever you need to do done and two, the stupid computers up at the business center have these ridiculous parental blocks on them. My husband tried to look at paintball stuff and it blocked it. I understand why they have them up there, but it's so ridiculous sometimes. People complain about them all the time, but whatever. Also, the maintenance men walk into your house whenever they want to. Don't expect them to tell you when they will be entering or why. They just go into your home and do whatever. One morning, I was sleeping and there were knocks on the door and I completely ignored them. Well, a couple minutes later they walked into my house and walked into the bathroom. I was so frightened because I didn't know why they were in there and what they were doing. So i just stayed really still and I tried not to make any noise. They seriously DON'T tell you when they'll be entering your house and in the lease it says that they will. How am i supposed to know that they're not looking through my things' I don't know who these people are and I have no idea why they're in my house. I like the apartment itself but I don't like how they are running the place. One of our friends moved out from the complex and they told us that they HATED the place. They lost their rent check several times and that the girls up at the front office don't know what they are doing. Fortunately, we've never had a problem with that so I don't know what happened to them. But overall, the apartments are okay but not worth the pay.
