Lauradale

I lived here with my family for about a year and a half and we had problems from day one. We were not allowed to see the apartment we were to move into until after we had signed all the paperwork and paid the deposit and rent. I wish we would have demanded to see the apartment before we signed or paid anything. The kitchen and bathroom were filthy when we arrived and one of the maintainance men told us we would not have to pay any cleaning charges when we moved out. That was a lie! We received a grossly inflated bill for unwarranted charges when we moved out which we were forced to reply to with a letter of dispute. The grounds are not well maintained and the "grass"/weeds are allowed to grow quite tall in the summer time. Be careful that you don't step in dog poo as no one takes their dogs to the designated toileting area and no one cleans up the poo either. I was left without a properly working stove for over three weeks the very old appliance broke. When the maintainance man finally brought me a new stove he told me that there was another resident using coolers to refrigerate food as his refrigerator had not been working for over a month! The tiles may fall out in many of the showers, this problem will either not be fixed correctly or will take a long time to get attention. Many of the apartments have mold or mildew problems on the walls or in the bedroom closets. We often found the ceiling of our tiny master bedroom to be damp after a rainstorm, this matter was never given proper attention. Lauradale is hands down the worst place I have ever lived and I have lived in other apartments and never had so many problems. This place is your last resort, but you might enjoy it if you like living in a slum.
