My husband and I lived at park west in an upstairs one bedroom from february of '07 to august of the same year.
The maintenance staff was speedy, efficient, and polite, as was the manager Larry who was always available for questions and concerns. A very down to earth ex-marine with this AMAZING good ol boy accent. The grounds were always kept clean and tidy and the apartment itself had a spacious kitchen with lots of cabinet and counter space, a larger sized bathroom, lots of windows which was great for airflow, and central heat/air. The cons to this apartment were neighbors; young couples who would have knock down drag outs in the middle of the night, but you can't control that and it's cheaper than going to the movies. Inadequate laundry facility. We were running to the coin-op every week because neither of the TWO washers and dryers were ever available. No closet space like WHATSOEVER. there's three closets total. one coat closet in the living room. one in the hallway for the water heater and MAYBE some totes if you're good at tetris. and one in the bedroom which was hardly big enough for my wardrobe let alone my AND my husbands. Lastly, and worst of all, Park West has a major roach infestation. I had never even SEEN a roach before moving to jacksonville and i mean they were EVERYWHERE. they would crawl out of our cabinets at night, from behind the toilet, out from under the floor boards. it was disgusting, and is what inevitably made us terminate our lease early. We took measures to minimize the problem of course [raid, roach motels, spraying the OUTside perimeter ourselves even] but it was just ridiculous... So, if you can't tolerate insects, it's the place for you.

i highly disagree... ive never seen a bug here let alone a roach.. ive seen one big bug on my screened in porch but... thats to be expected. this post is obviously outdated... its now nov of 08 and im pretty sure no more roaches here :)
