overall I have enjoyed my stay at abbotts creek. i have had no major problems while being here have met some very nice people.
seems most everyone at this complex has a dog and that is what attracted me, i did not want to live someplace where dogs or their owners where not wanted. this place is obviously animal friendly, from the dog treats at the main office, to maintenance men stopping to give treats (after asking) to the very friendly dog park where everyone gathers in the evening. the only issue, mentioned by others here, are that a few dog owners do not clean up after their animals. they are a minority, trust me. but it doesn't take but one or two people (with big dogs) to ruin it for everyone.
having moved here "in a hurry" as part of a job relocation the pet policy and location where primary attractions. after living here 6 months i feel lucky that i chose kernersville, its a great city.
I plan to stay in kernersville and the only reason i MAY leave this complex is if i can find a house (with a fence where my dogs can spend more time outside unsupervised).
I believe that a house may be cheaper than apartment, though you lose many amenities. still looking and researching that subject.

I would agree that they are "pet friendly" to a point. The few owners that aren't cleaning up after their dogs are probably the same ones that are continually letting their dogs run loose. This is a big problem for owners of smaller dogs. Kernersville has a leash law and it's a shame that the owners are not able to comply. For all of the owners that gather at the "dog park" in the evenings, how do you clean up after your dogs when they are running free of any leashes and pooping in the dark? I would say that the careless dog owners have made a very poor impression on the community as a whole! I just wish the complex would start enforcing their rules on this matter.
