Most of these good reviews are so obviously written by the manager and her staff. You can tell by the wording, nobody writes like that. I can tell you from my own personal experience of 18 very painful months that this place is a nightmare. These supposedly honest good reviews say that it's a quiet place, which is a load of crap. The units are built mostly of wood and are very flimsy, so you hear everything your neighbors do. But even worse, because of the flimsy construction and entrance doors that are huge and heavy, every time people around you go in and out and close their door you hear a very loud boom noise and you feel the walls shake. That is, unless they are conscious neighbors and don't slam their doors, but at least most of the neighbors I had around me were trash, they didn't give a damn about being loud and obnoxious. Imagine coming home after a long day at work, you want to relax so you lie in bed and watch some TV, but every five or ten minutes you hear a loud BOOM! and you feel the walls shake. Well, that is what living in Lauren's Way is like. It's a torture. And forget about complaining about this to the inept manager of the place, she will pretty much laugh on your face and tell you it's "apartment living" and there's nothing she can do. Well, I lived in several apartments and now in a cheap townhouse, and while I've had some problems they are nothing compared to the traumatic experience that was living at Lauren's Way.

For the first 8 months I had a gang member living next to me that used to beat up his girlfriend once or twice a month, sometimes in the middle of the night and I used to wake up startled because it seemed like the whole place was falling down, since he was throwing objects against the paper-like walls, and the yelling between him and his girlfriend, such as "Yo, -----" and "You area fu@#$ng as#$ole!!!", at 2 AM in the morning. The manager did nothing, in fact they left on their own. This same gang member used to vandalize my satellite dish about twice a month in retaliation for me calling the police on him. The manager, as it couldn't be any other way, did nothing. Oh, but of course if I wanted to talk to her she avoided me or made me wait for an hour while she was laughing hysterically with some friends in her office. Oh, and she kicked me out of the complex because I complained too much, even though I always paid my rent on time. Well, if you have a problem, and the manager that has to solve that problem for you is absolutely negligent and doesn't do it, you don't have a choice but to keep complaining. I wouldn t hire this woman even to manage a hot dog stand.

I could go for hours writing details about my stressful experience but I don't want to waste more time. Bottom line is, look anywhere else and don't believe all these fake comments. Also, the place is severely overpriced, and you can't have Time Warner Cable because they have a captive contract with some crappy small company that only provides service to that complex. Look it up for yourself, go to Zap2it.com or TVGuide.com and type zip coded 27545 to get the TV Listings, you'll see a provider for Lauren's Way. They used to allow people to have Directv, but I remember reading just before I left that they were not going to allow it anymore because of the huge quantity of satellite dishes all over the complex because most people thought the small cable company service was terrible.
