I really enjoyed my stay at what was Chambers Ridge (now Berkshires of Matthews), and a lot of the reason was Melissa, the property manager, and her staff. Melissa worked really well to accommodate me with my lease, and was super friendly - I think she knows every person on the property. Like another reviewer, I am moving to be closer to work, but it was refreshing to drive back to the complex after work, which feels quaint due to the well-maintained lawns and pine trees encircling the complex and gives it a very secluded feeling even though it's right next to a large thoroughfare. The complex serves adults, kids, and pets well with grilling stations, a pool cleaned daily, and multiple doggie bag/garbage stations, respectively. The centrally located laundry unit always worked effectively and the machines run on cards instead of coins - big plus for those who don't have washers and dryers, although there are hookups in each unit. I always felt safe, even when I was walking my dog around 11 pm, especially since the pine needle beds and hedges let you move through the complex easily. The only complaints are that the apartments were constructed a while ago and have some older pieces (i.e. sliding doors that didn't close easily/completely) mixed in with new, and a few of the maintenance staff have turned over (super fast turnaround, but not always as good as before). Otherwise, though, the new appliances, carpets, and painting more than make up for this, and I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for a safe and peaceful apartment close to restaurants and shopping.

its funny how you couldent post your name. i live in this complex, and agree with this poster. i did have one incident that i will not address here, but overall this place is great! sadly i will not be renewing my lease, as i am moving to birkdale village to be closer to work. ive been here for over 2 years, this was my first apartment on my own.
