This has been my home for 2.5 years and since the day I walked into the office and expressed an interest, I knew this was the place for me!!

This is the second complex I've lived in since my return to the USA from the ROK. I moved from the first complex after 2 weeks because I felt unsafe arriving home after a late shift at Target.

The staff members are professional and friendly! I do not have enough positive praise for them. And I have seen the maintenance guy Chuck help residents out by changing tires and shoveling snow! Now that is professional service and being a good neighbor!!

Positive Features
Matthews Police Department is located across the street.

24-hour gym and grocery store are within walking distance.

Neighbors watch out for you without being nosey and there are lots of kids but most are well behaved. MMMmmm, come to think of it there is a middle school within walking distance.

Hummingbirds!! Yes, from mid May through mid October I attract hummingbirds with flowers and feeders to my patio/deck.

Negative
My patio/deck has a clear view of the trash compactor and once a week trash piles up outside of it because residents in the community next door to ours bring their trash over and dump it. And people that dont live here bring items and dump as well.

Oh, dont ever try to sleep late on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday (this varies due to the weather) because the roar of grass trimmers will keep you awake as the landscapers take care of the property.

People with dogs don't pick up after them even though there are "doggie poo" drop containers with bags located everywhere.

Taxes! Expect to pay a tax on your car (rather expensive) because Archstone is in Mecklenburg county.

This is a great community.

I am planning to relocate JUNE of 2006. This is the only complex I have come across so far that has excellent ratings. I will be applying here!!! Stephanie from NYC
