Would be a decent place to live if managment would screen for renters.

Moved in late Apr 2008. since then had constant problems with neighbors having loud get togethers until 4-5 in the morning. Beer cans everywhere, cigarette butts stuck to the bottom of your feet... it can become irritating at times. Walls in the apartments are (no lie) almost paper thin.. so unless you like to hear your neighbors arguing, throwing loud late night parties, having sex, or just making loud bowel movements in the bathroom (which again is very clear to hear), then i suggest looking elsewhere that is quiet. Building construction is ok but definitely not great. Stairs are squeaky and uneven, drywall is improperly fitted and bends around wall studs, but other than that everything else seems to be ok. The grounds are kept nice for the most part except the nooks and crannies on the property where peoples ignorance clutter up and become an eyesore. Have noticed a problem with cats, dont know if they are strays or what not but i have seen 6 different cats walking around my back porch pissing my cat off who is an inside cat causing her to do some not so nice territory marking. A nice red ryder daisy should alleviate this problem. There is some minor loudspeaker noise coming from the new car lot next door to the complex but is not bad. The fountain on the grounds can be quite nice, the weeds grow a little long around the banks but for the most part is ok. The swimming pool for the complex can be very overcrowded at times, again with a lot of loud drunk teenagers or early twenties kids hanging around it. Its true what other posters say in that the complex seems to be a haven for the NASCAR U. students. Every other car you see in the parking lot is either a tuner car, a camaro, a slammed cheap ass S-10 or ranger, or a jacked up pick up truck with fake testicles hanging off of the tow hitch. Evidence in the apparent influx of kids is noticeable in the vast quantity of burnout marks and skid marks in the parking lot, see for yourself. Upon complaining to managment about the neighbors they have made phone call efforts to tell the tenants that they are in violation of contract, but are ignored. The staff has been nice and courteous to me and my spouse and have been understanding of the situation. Unfortunatly circumstances have caused us to move only 2 months into our lease which we will probably be incurring a very unreasonably hefty penalty as stated in the rental contract for early lease termination. Legal and legit.(it is a business after all). So as a final thought, Talbert woods does have potential, however- the only way to have a harmonious community in my opinion would be to screen prospective tenants (if possible and legal), and to implement slightly strickter pet laws regarding unleashed animals.(damn cats). If these criteria were possible, then i think Talbert woods would be a great place to stay, but for now and for years to come it will probably remain a childish resort for gearheads.
***update*** Have moved out since second week in august. Before then harassment by other tenants had been extremly bothersome to dangerous. Have found soiled undergarments on my vehicle as well as a nice scrape going down the side of it. But the kicker..... the one that really pisses me off,... is the homemade spear that was found lodged in my front tree ( 3 FEET FROM MY 3 YEAR OLDS BEDROOM WINDOW!) I have enclosed a picture of it to show that these are the kinds of people that live here.I hope it posts because i tried twice to load it here but did not catch. Maybe on a good note i had contacted a lawyer to review the lease and he found them to be in violation due to noise control and safety issues. I haven't seen a bill in the mail yet, so i am assuming they don't want to challenge it in court. Please, Please, Please, reconsider moving to a different location. I'm afraid to see what happens if someone gets hurt.
*** Update*** Talbert took me to court initially for $4000 What the hell!!! Lawyers knocked it down to Roughly $1500. I hope ----- Pisses and shits on that place and god burys it in sand. >:-(
