I have read most of these reviews and while I concur that the fees charged when moving out may seem a bit high and unnecessary, I invite you ask other communities what they charge. I have lived at a number of communities in an attempt to find a location where I would like to buy, and I have found that they all charge high prices at "move-out". Bexley Park is no different or any more expensive than any other community.
The grounds could use a little work and that is actually being taken care of. You can look around and see the maintenance staff at work replacing brick and fascia molding every day. My only complaint with the condition of the grounds does not even pertain to the staff, but rather to the irresponsible pet owners that allow their dogs to defecate on and around the sidewalk areas, as well as inside the dog park, without cleaning this mess up. Bags and disposal bins are offered but simply ignored. It is not the job of the community staff to pick up your dog's waste!! This is, by law, the responsibility of the pet owner and they can be fined. If you don't own a dog you can still do your part by reporting the violators. Things will change I assure you.
With regards to the staff, I find them very helpful. If you read your lease IN IT'S ENTIRETY, and abide by what you signed, I feel they are most helpful. I had a huge problem with tenants not abiding by the parking agreement they signed, and in fact was blocked out of my garage by someones' vehicle. After handling the situation myself I then turned it over to the office. They had received so many complaints that the staff called in a towing company and guess what, problem solved. Now parking is no longer an issue and people utilize the spaces provided. How's that for a job well done'
This is a good community with fair staff. Do your part and they will do theirs. Understand that the previous owners of the property didn't care about who moved in because they knew they were selling. Proof of this is in their other property down the road that now has HUD in the office because they just wanted to "fill space". This is why Bexley Park now has riff-raff that complains about paying for damages they caused at "move-out".
For the price you can't get much better, I've looked.
