Management SUCKS!

Area is nice, but management SUCKS -- especially after new management rolled in in Jan '06. They are petty, lazy, ill-trained, non-apologetic, money-grubbing, rule-changing, and out to get you with legal guns and growing money bags. STAY AWAY.

* There's only one (1) dumpster in the entire complex. Which means you must put your trash in your car and tote it there.
* Parking lots do not reserve spaces for residents. On weekends, visitors often park up the spaces closest to the buildings, forcing some residents (eg, me) to park farther away.
* They don't remove giant spiders or webs in the breezeways. I had one for SIX (6) weeks.
* The rules conveniently change at whim. Items below marked "New rule!" denote those introduced by new management, and not in my lease agreement.
* (New rule!) There's a $25/bag charge for leaving trash bags outside your door. (Just a few days... I'll haul them out this weekend, you f***ers!)
* (New rule!) Although they don't haul your trash from your apt to the dumpster, they charge a monthly fee for removing trash from the dumpster. Without even knowing how MUCH trash you put in the dumpster.
* (New rule!) Their office hours are reduced to approximately your own work hours. (Exception: A few hrs on Saturday remain.) And even when the office IS supposedly open, there's sometimes a sign reading "out on premises." Apparently staffing has been reduced, I assume'
* They no longer deliver phone books directly to your apt. Instead, they dump the whole mass in front of the mailboxes, and it's a free-for-all. So, you'd better drive over there regularly to check your mail. And if the phonebook for your address is gone, well... guess you've gotta take one for someone ELSE'S address.
* They waited five (5) months to notify me of a package dropped off for me at the office.
* (New rule!) They have ZERO tolerance for late rent. One month I delivered my rent THIRTY (30) MINUTES after the first-thing-in-the-morning deadline. (Previous management HAD accepted it, the two times I delivered it.) I offered both a check and a Visa credit card. Normally they'd accept that, and charge a late fee, which is petty but not a huge deal. However...
* Some staff is POORLY informed and holds to even MORE stringent rules. The ----- on duty that day refused to accept my payment. And then...
* Legal action was threatened for my 30-minute delinquency: Having refused my payments, management posted a note on my door threatening to take me to court if I didn't present a MONEY ORDER from the bank by three days later. This happened to be only ONE business day later: Monday. Never mind that the bank is CLOSED on Saturday and Sunday. (I managed to resolve the issue by presenting my Visa credit card AGAIN the following day, to someone who knew the rules.)
* Head management never apologized for their mistaken refusal of my payment, although I typed and delivered a polite (but angry) letter explaining my experience.
* (New signs!) Signs greet you upon entrance to the gate saying obnoxious, unwelcoming things like "Management not responsible for damage to vehicles caused by the gate" and "Gate timed for ONE (1) vehicle at a time; Do not follow behind others."
* Finally, rent is relatively expensive. I pay roughly the same amount for my 700-800-ft^2 place as a friend pays for their 1100-ft^2 place (at an apt complex w/dumpsters in each parking lot, and sane management): $650/month.

Stay away. You'll be glad you did.

I'm glad they charged you a fee for removing your trash! They should have charged your more for being inconsiderate. NO one wants to see your trash being left out in the breezeway. Consider your other neighbors, and if you paid your rent on time you wouldn't have to worry about late fees. Sounds like you got exactly what you asked for.

Anonymous- you are an idiot! How low class can you get? Your post shows everyone one thing - the only problem at Bridges are the idiot residents living there like you.

If you want to leave your trash out for other paying residents to smell - and see - buy a house (it would have to be cheap of course) and destroy your own property value - what little it would have!

If you can't pay your rent on time - you need a lower rent! You actually have a very low rent for your sq. ft. Look around the Brier Creek area idiot. You are probably from Durham and used to there rent prices - maybe you should move back and help Brier Creek with its trash problem.

The Bridges are not responsible for your phone books. That would be the post office and the local phone book provider. How dumb do you get?

ALL good properties have a late payments policy. Since you are obviously dense - a policy is something that EVERYONE must follow - including yourself. Why should you be able to pay your rent late?

Again go to other Brier Creek communities - they also only have one dumpster - would you prefer dumpsters all over the property? What a smell and look that would bring!

Seriously - get a brain - you are an idiot! Move back to Durham and pay the $400 a month in rent you are used to!
