Still a good deal- I'm very happy here From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 6/11/2007 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007 1 response   I moved in to camden westwood just over a month ago and couldn't be happier. The office has answered all of my questions kindly and have stayed past closing twice to talk to me/let me pay rent. I have put in two maintenance requests which were both handled the day that I put them in. The maintenance guy even volunteered to come help me when I was having trouble moving my TV and setting up my cable. The pool is wonderful and my building is very clean. I have never heard my next door neighbors and only hear the girls above me ocassionally (i live on the ground floor). There is also ample parking, which is uncommon in this area. I would suggest trying to get an apartment near the front of the complex. I only rarely hear the train, but I can immagine that it would be loud near the back. Overall the neighborhood seems to be very safe, clean and friendly. Now for the trash issue: Since I have lived here, the trash compactor has jammed twice due to people throwing away non compactable items. While it was fixed pretty quickly, this did cause trash to build up until it was fixed. If you read the reviews, many people are very upset about this happening. Last week Camden began valet trash service where it is picked up outside your door each night (trash bins must be stored inside between 9am and 8pm). While it would be nice if this were optional ($30 increase in lease when you renew)it is a solution to the problem that so many people were complaining about. Even with the increase, my rent would still be much cheaper than anywhere else within several miles. I was very concerned about moving here due to the poor reviews on this site, but after speaking with several people who lived here and were happy I decided that I would go for it. I haven't regretted my decision for a second and would recommend that you come and check it out for yourself before you cross it off your list.
