I am not management staff or one of these disgruntled tenants, so this write-up is pretty unbiased.

First off, the apartments look beautiful, especially coming down the hill off Page Rd. into the complex. Just watch out for the bump.

Looks can be deceiving, as the apartments seem to be a little more poorly made upon closer inspection. Constant construction is going on to fix some of the problems brought up during construction.

I, for one, have been lucky enough not to have had any mold problems that plague many of the residents on the lake-side of the grounds.

Parking is OK: not great, but not out of control. I think it varies from building to building, though.

Noise is a problem now and, but that's what you get with any apartment.

My experience with the maintence staff is that they always come and fix the problem I am having on the same day I report it.

The construction going on with the balconies it OUT OF CONRTOL; they simultaneously work on 4 projects at one time, and seem to start working on one, never finish, and leave all their equipment and make-shift walls just sitting there on the broken balconies.

Lastly, I think that there will be a lot of new commerical developments going up right around the apt. complex. First of all, there are a lot of "round about" roads which lead to no-where, perfect for expansion. Second, the apartments are called "Colonial Grand at Arringdon"... but there's nothing else called "Arringdon" around there. My conspiracy theory is that Arringdon will soon be a commerical park. We know of one building being built right next door; you can see the sign from Page Rd.

Overall, don't get too taken in by the great appearance; there are some problems here and there, but it's still a decent apartment to live in. I feel that some people had really high expectations for this apt. b/c of it's grand appearance. It's a great location, close to Durham, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh, for a very reasonable price. Remember, you get what you pay for.

I said I WOULD recommend this apartment, but only for those looking to spend $700-800 for a two bed room apt. Those who are looking to spend $1000 a month for a two-bedroom and think they are getting a good deal will be disappointed. It is truely a "$750 apartment."
