I relocated temporarily for my job. Originally I was told I would be here from 12- 18 months. So I signed an 18 month lease. Now I found out I had to leave in 10 months. Despite the fact that numerous apartments are sitting here empty, Candy the manager (and yes her name really is Candy- or so she claims)refused to let me sublet it to someone who really wanted to rent here. Rather, then filling an apartment, and allowing me to finish the lease, making everyone involved happy, - she insisted I have to pay $5,000! Could you believe that' My rent was only 600 a month. Even if you add that up for 6 more months, it only comes to $3600. So I am being penalized, because my job wants me to move, and she refuses to be understanding. This place is a grave yard, nobody lives here any more, nobody wants to move in, and those who live here can't wait to get out. Worse, when I spoke to her she didn't even look me in the face let alone my eyes. She stared at the floor. Could you get more rude' I am so frustrated, several of my colleagues did not have any such problem. Their apartments let them out of their lease, no questions asked.
