It works for me, only because I'm never home

I have lived in my apartment for 16 mos now. The apartments are lovely with crown molding and garden tubs. Coming from the Washington, DC area the price per square footage was AMAZING at $615/mo for 900sq ft. It has since raised to just about $700/mo. HOWEVER... the walls are as thin as WAX PAPER. The ceiling light in my kitchen used to shake when my previous neighbor upstairs walked across the kitchen. I could hear her sing gospel songs on Sunday mornings, which I didn't mind as I know she doesn't intend to irritate me. The maintenance staff did not call me to let me know what the status was on my maintenance request, despite me leaving a message on the 24 hr emergency line and the regular maintenance line. They supposedly fix the problem and left a note in my apartment, however, I never stated in my voicemessage that it was okay for them to enter my apartment when I'm not home. This place works for me now since I travel 3-4 days/week for work, but as soon as I can buy a house, I'm out of here. I read reviews on other apartments, and it appears that noise is a serious problem across the board for apartments in this area. Since my neighbor upstairs now isn't as heavy-footed or as loud as my previous one, I'm willing to stay until I can buy propery in the next 10 mos or so, but I definitely would not recommend this place to a friend.

Did you say it wasn't ok for them to enter your apartment? If you leave a message on the emergency line do you expect them to wait and schedule a time? I assume you left it on the emergency line because it was important and they didn't have time to schedule an appointment with you. Either way, if YOU DON'T TELL THEM NOT TO ENTER you can't complain.
