The overall appearance of this apartment is neat, tidy and well-maintained. Of course they managed to afford it by hiring cheap Mexican labors. The management team changes all the time, except the property manager herself. She rarely steps out of her little room, but is always very polite and nice, except during a negotiation of rent. The smile will be totally gone if she realizes that you have found out that they charge you $100 more than the list price for a lease renewal. That makes you understand that the only thing they really care about is MONEY. So check with their corporate website and find out their advertised rental price before you sign up for a lease renewal. I did it the second time and brought the rent down by $100. Their maintenance team is diligent and quick to fix problems, which is a key factor to keep me living here. However, there always seems to be broken equipments in the health club and not fixed for months. There seems to have been some changes in the upper management of the apartment to really reach out to the people living here. There used to be a lady at the office who were rude and fussed about renters giving her trouble. I walked in to recharge my laundry card one Monday and she said "Don't ever come on Monday morning 'cause we're busy!". I complained anonymously to their corporate website, she remained there for another few months and was gone after that. Thank God! Now the people there are much younger and nicer! And they're ------- American, too. I'm glad to see more diversity in the old South of strong "heritage". I hope they keep up the trend. Just like other Archstone coummunities in this area, their one bedroom units are not very spacious, with limited space in closets, but their two bedroom ones are big enough for a family. However, sound insulation is not too good. The public stair cases are attached to the wall outside bedroom so that you can always hear people going up and down.
