I think Southern Oaks is a good place to live. The extra security is good, other than a security door that didn't work for a couple of weeks (due to a lightning strike i was told), but was fixed. I haven't ever seen anybody suspicious walking around anyway. The grounds are kept really good. I don't know why all of the negative things about the staff were written in the previous posts. They have been nothing but helpful with me. They are very friendly, and always sey hello to me when they see me. The staff also had a large cookout a couple of weeks ago w/ food and music and a raffle drawing where they gave away nice gifts. The mood was very laid back. The only problem i've had so far is from some neighbors dogs barking on my floor. Seems like they were barking to hear themselves bark while the tenant wasn't there, i dunno, but it has stopped it seems. IT wasn't too bad, but enough to get on my nerves for a couple of days. I never hear any other noise coming from there.

The price is a little steep compared to other places, but to me it's a lot nicer than any other places around the area i looked at. Everything else seemed a little ghetto. Southpoint mall ten minutes away, and Brier Creek shopping center ten-fifteen minutes away...can't ask for a better location!
