The management at this apartment complex is horrible. Upon moving in, I thought I was dealing with a quite friendly staff who seemed to really care about their tenants. Don't let them fool you! They are like little Enron executive want-to-bes! They are strictly driven by money and if you're like me...you don't want to call a place like this "home."

In the past, I've never had a problem with terminating a lease on the date stated in the contract. With this company's policy, however, a clause (cleverly breezed over when negotiating the contract in the first place) is included demanding a 60 day notice of termination of contract in writing. Who does that'' It's like a sneaky set up to get more money. The manager said they need 60 days to rent my apartment to someone else, but if they are such a great place to live then 30 days should be plenty of time.

I didn't receive correspondence regarding my 60 day written notice until there were less than 45 days left on my lease. When I called them the day after receiving the letter, their response was, "Yeah, we've been trying to contact you. That's why we gave you a letter a month ago." Oh really' Funny that I never got it. You put it in my door' How many phones are in your office' It's called pick it up and dial if you are so concerned about your tenants' well-being like you say you are.

They don't care. That's why they repeatedly say, "Well we try to help, but you have to read your lease yourself." To me that says, "Yep, we hope you have to pay us more than you planned. That's why we do it this way."

Three of my neighbors here who have moved out have told me about similar move-out situations, and have all left unhappy with the management.

Also, in January, I put in a complaint regarding mold around the windows in my apartment. They sent someone out to look at them, but it was on a morning I slept in late and I asked them to come back. When I called the office later to reschedule, they promised that a maintenance man would be out to my apartment by the end of the day. No one has returned since, and I've also noticed other concerns regarding mold problems in this thread.

Needless to say, I hate this place and I can't wait to get out! Who needs such frivolous conflict in their lives'

It is your responsibility to read the contract. Rules are Rules. This aint your momma's house its a business. I was told about the 60 day notice and also received a letter. Lets see sleeping in vs getting my mold issue taken cared of. Come on wake up you lazy fool. Sleep after the technician leaves. Remember this is their turf not yours. I lived there for a year with no issues.

I lived there for a little over a year and must concur with the original writer of this thread. I had a problem with a bug infestation due to a leak in the ceiling and when I told her she needed to get the exterminator out there she told me 'Bugs have as much right to this planet as we do' Screw the bugs!!! I was paying $1200/mo and my place was INFESTED with silverfish due to a leak in the roof. I had to threaten them in order to get them to break my lease. I know of 8 other residents that have left and every one of them has complaints. The person who wrote "aint your momma's house" message above is probably one of the staff at the oaks. They are extremely unprofessional and rude.

Is this the first apartment you have ever lived in? I just got back from visiting this complex and I already know they require a 60 day notice. People just always want to play the ignorant card and blame the apartment because you didn't do what you agreed to when you signed the lease. And why should THEY have to keep trying to contact YOU? It is your responsibility. Grow up and act like an adult. If not maybe you should move back home where someone takes care of you and works around your sleep in schedule. Seriously, if you were so concerned about the mold, get your butt outta bed. Obviously you weren't too worried, which is maybe why they didn't see the need to make it a priority.
