My wife and I were planning to move out because I received a great job in another city. Of course since we were stuck in the lease, we went ahead and moved and just continued to pay the rent at treybrooke for the last 2 months which was fine with us. The problem comes in when we come to pay the last months rent and put in the 30 days notice when sudddenly they tell us that they have a 60 day notice there. first apartment place i have ever heard of that does that. This place is not willing to work with you one bit. We were residents for 1.5 years, always paid the rent 2 weeks before it was due and even won some rent discounts because of that fact. So anyways, they say not only do we have to pay the last months rent of 629, but also have to pay 820 for the market rent on top of that for the next month to equal the "60" days bullsh**t that they came up with. So here me and my wife go having to pay this huge 1250 dollars or so on top of that fact that we have moved into a new apartment for me to start working at the new job and having to put a deposit down there and pay first months rent there also. Treybrooke is not willing to help you out if you are moving on. Only when its in their best interest. All future renters moving on to bigger and better things be very cautious towards the end of your lease or you will be suckered. I got the feeling that this is a usual ploy of theirs to extort more money out of unknowing renters who have to suddenly move to other cities and have no choice but to pay out of the a*ss.
Another problem i saw towards the end of the lease was many "lower" income people moving into the apartments even though the market rent is 825. Something tells me they have cut one of those government deals and are letting all the ghetto low income types into the place. Every month it kept getting worse and worse and i kept seeing less and less decent folks around. As it usually goes u know if the ghetto types move in then the other people move out and find a higher income place that they can't afford and thats exactly what started happening there. During the summer u couldnt' even get in the nice pool they have because it was filled to the brim with those types. My wife was too afraid to walk over there in her bathing suite because of the scum over there. Wow you got a huge pool but what good is it with those scum taking it over. Not that im saying that other apartments aren't getting the same way but just to let u know every month i see more and more ghettos/latinos taking over. whats even worse too is a mexican moved in below me there and not 1 week after moving in he rear ended my brand new 2004 toyota corrolla going out of apartment one morning and i ended up selling my car becaose of it after the repairs were done. It seemed a great place to live but its not all roses when u see the deeper level of it and when u make mention of wanting to go elsewhere is when u see the real side of the place.
The maintenance is prompt, and they do a pretty good job. The aparment people here are all nice, and they live on-site. As for crime, apartments in my opinion always have some crime. I feel pretty safe here even though when we first moved here we saw a Morrisville cop with his gun drawn around one of the apt buildings. They don't take their gun out of their holster unless they really feel threatened because they have to write a report every time they do it, etc. I never heard bout what exactly happened with that. They did let us know about how some tires and rims were taken off a vehicle. It has been about a month since it has happened, and we haven't heard of anymore car thefts. I have lived in some pretty bad places that were really ghetto. This place is a lot better, and I do feel safe even though there was that car theft and the police incident. The lease is really hard to get out of like most places. We wanted to go ahead and buy a house, but the really strick lease has kept us from gettin a place. Another bad thing is that they don't own many aparment places like some of the other communites around here so if you had to move and needed another apartment to transfer to more than likely you would be screwed. The only way to get around paying the strict lease is to find another person to take over your current lease by adding them as a roomate and then get them to take you off the lease. The market rent for our apartment is $825, but we got a special and got it for $629. They have some really good specials here. You do hear the airplanes fly by like that other person said, but you get use to it. It isn't as bad as trains coming back like our old apartments had. The location is awesome if you work in rtp. It only takes us 15-20 min in rush hour traffic to get there. We love how close we are to Cary. We are only a few miles away, but yet very very close to rtp. As far as hearing neighbors, as long as your neighbors aren't throwin a really big party or they ain't bangin around moving boxes, you don't hear a thing.

From all the places I've looked at (at least a dozen in the area), all but one required 60 day notice if you didn't plan to renew your lease. The notice requirement should've been in your lease. Always read the lease because that's what counts if there's a problem.

I agree about the monies they are asking for. That is crazy!!!! I also agree that Treybrooke does "change their tune when one decides to move out. They are so accommodating when you move in and screw you over as much as possible when you want to better yourself. I also agree that the pool was unusable this past summer and it was full of baby Latinos with NO DIAPER on. The staff was told about it and several of the woman took their babies out of the pool but the very next day; BAM back in the pool with no diaper. And you know what happens when you first hit the water right???? Pee pee was my fear of swimming. Diseases are caused like that. Wayne can't put enough chlorine in the pool to keep it disease free from the people who have taken over the pool and the complex.

I agree with Penciloid - READ YOUR LEASE! And yes, 60-days is common now. They are very up front with you when you move in about the rules, perhaps you weren't listening...and why would you expect them to be accomodating for you to fail to provide the notice in your lease - it is a business afterall, should stores with no refunds after 30 days let you get a refund 60 days later but make others have only 30 days. Come on, think! I enjoyed the pool last summer and look forward to enjoying it again this summer. I disagree with boopadoop about the staff addressing situations, or at least the staff last summer. Wayne and Dom took care of the pool with excellence and Dom was like a pool cop making sure only residents were here and that they followed a bathing suit only rule. I know because I was there when he sent someone home that was wearing cut offs. The pool was never shut down by pool inpsectors, like 2 friends of mine in 2 other apartments. It was always clean. Sometimes there were large groups of people together...but did you happen to notice it was at night when the office was closed??? They can't be at the pool 24-7, be reasonable! I still like Treybrooke but I really miss the old staff.
