Well first of all I should point out that Academy Common is not owned by just one realty company so this rating pertains to Neuse Builders Realty Company who manages the building I live in.

Normal leases are 1 year but I really just wanted a 6 month lease so the apartment manager Christie called the owners and got me a 6 month lease for a slightly higher price. Normally the apartments are I think $610 for a first floor apartment and $620 for a second story apartment for a year lease. Mine was $635 for the 6 month lease. Each building only has 4 apartments which is great as you don't have a lot of neighbors to deal with. The layout of the building and apartments is really great. There's a front entrance into the building and then there is an apartment door on each side on the first floor and then the stairs take you up to the second floor where there is an apartment on each side on that floor.

The apartments are all 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom. Whoever designed these apartments were really smart as they utilized every inch of space. Every apartment has it's own laundry room. The second bedroom and bathroom have a privacy door if you share the apartment which is nice.

There is a walk in pantry and the kitchen is plenty big with plenty of cabinet and drawer space. The patio has a storage closet where you can store stuff.

The apartment I had moved into had been completely refinished and was very nice.

The place is very quiet. The building was designed so that the apartments on each side do not touch which cuts out the noise from the next door neighbor and the ceilings/floors must have some serious soundproofing in them as I can't hear anything from upstairs.

The neighborhood is pretty safe and quiet and there is even a cop living in one of the apartments who parks his patrol car here.

Overall I have been very impressed with this place.

About the only thing that could be improved is the maintenance. One of my sliding doors wasn't working quite right and was pointed out to maintenance but they never came and fixed it. I don't blame the apartment manager though. The maintenance guy apparently doesn't work here full time so she has a hard time getting him to come here and fix stuff when it's needed.

There is no assigned parking but there is plenty of parking right in front of your building.

Overall I really love this place and am enjoying living here.

They do have a website which is how I found them. They weren't listed under any apartment finding site. The website is www.academycommon.com
