Best Address In New Bern! But You Pay For It!

I have lived in Woodland Crossing for almost 2 years and havent really had any major problems. The staff is very nice and professional and any maintenance concerns are dealt with very fast. The extras like the pool, clubhouse, fitness center, and business center could be nicer but for a smaller complex it is suitable. There is a warm community feel and safety is never a concern. It is by far the best apartment complex in New Bern and because of that I think they up the rent which leads me to my only complaint the price is really high. Although I wont be staying here, if I did the rent renewal is getting way too high now. I think for a 720 sqft. apartment with 1 bed/bath they are going to start at around 900 a month. Now that is just crazy especially because they claim to be luxury apartments when the quality inside is far from. Although the appearance looks nice, for prices that high the quality should match. Everything inside is cheap from the carpet to the tiling to the fixtures and appliances. I understand there arent going to be marble counters but ceramic tiling would have been nice. I defintely dont think you get what you pay for. On a good note if you have pets the only restriction they have are breed restrictions and that applies to agressive dogs. They are very understanding when it comes time to move and you have damage and they supply cleanup stations on each end of the complex. The only problem isnt the high fee you pay but where the money goes. $500 for a dog, $300 of which you dont get back and doesnt go to damage repair. So you have to wonder where that money goes and let me tell you it isnt the dog park because it is lacking and an eye sore on the property. According to the staff the dog park is a courtesy but I think if I pay $500 for a dog fee and I get back less than half we paid for it and it is not only a demand but a necessity. Overall with minor discrepancies it is a very nice place to live and met my needs for the time I was here. To anyone who moves here it is the nicest place to live in New Bern they dont lie when they say its the best address in New Bern but you are definitely going to pay for it.

Thank you. This is a level-headed review and it comes across as about as objective a take on one's rental abode as anyone deserves to get. The hard-core subjective reviews (positive or negative) are useful mainly to those who wrote them, but don't get all flustered, please: I wrote "mainly." Relating to actual facts is simply more informative, and that's a fact. Yes, the rent for a 1 BR @ Woodlands is equivalent to that for a "luxury" or bona-fide luxury 2 BR in merely slightly larger towns with more competition. I have had to move quite a bit over the past few years and I've got the data to prove my point. Yep, you are right on the money. So it goes. I guess "luxury" is a relative term. But I'll tell you this much: Given the high overall rating for this complex compared to the awful average ratings given to other rental complexes in New Bern proper, this may indeed constitute rental luxury incarnate for New Bern, NC. Again, I appreciate the info. I'll take it from here.
