I dont think I have ever been in a worse apartment then here. After looking all over Raleigh, I decided that although this apartment cost a lot more it was worth it because of the location, pool, gym and free coffee. I can't believe I did not see through the smokey mirrors, this place is a nightmare to live at. The people above me sound like a herd of cattle moving constantly, I have asked for repairs to damages I found when I moved in and noone has responded, I called the manager and have yet to get a call back, the carpet is so cheap and has developed stains I have no clue where they came from, the hallways coming to my apartment are more like a trash dump, they never clean them, there is dog ---- everywhere, when I call noone answers, they never have coffee at night, the speedbumps are annoying(but I see the need since the parking garage is like a nascar track), there is a water stain in my living room ceiling and noone has come to check it out even after calling three times. I could go on and on about how horrible this place is.

When I relo'd to Raleigh back in mid 2007, I considered renting at Oberlin Court but decided I wanted less expensive digs but I did try to gather as much info about the place as I could. My impression is they have (or had) enough of a pool of decently paid young professionals wanting to live there and the transient nature of such tenants led to an attitude of "why kill ourselves"? with management. When tenant turn-over is high, such an attitude is not uncommon. With the economy gone to hell will vacancies spike? If so might this effect the service tenants get for the better since folks who can afford the rent will be more valued? Who knows?
