Auston Grove is the type of place where everything seems fine . . . until you move in. Being owned by a corporation, the staff only care about their bottom line and will try to screw you over with every potential loophole they have at their disposal. In addition, the staff only does the bare minimum in regards to maintaining relationships with the tenants to insure that they will be able to keep their jobs. In the time that I've lived there, one particular upper management position has changed hands 3 times. The average length of stay at that position is about 8 months. I cannot tell you how awful and greedy the staff is. ----- ----- is a pedantic ----. Just because you are the manager where I live does not mean that you are better than any of your tenants. You are ------------------- and you can't cover up the ------- in you with some nicer clothes.

Maintenance requests get brushed off with "I don't know how to fix that." They will, however, generally repsond to maintenance requests in a timely fashion and the maintenance staff is very respectful and pleasant to deal with.

The units are constructed so poorly that you can hear people on the third floor walking down the stairs from inside your unit. You can hear just about everything that goes on next door through the walls.

A shooting took place there a couple of months ago and the staff merely sent out a letter that glossed over the details and promised increased patrols from the police which never happened. Safety is becoming more of an issue every day.

Children who live in the complex pose quite a problem because their parents let them run unchecked throughout the complex pretty much any time they are not in school. They break glass in the parking lot, cause numerous disturbances at the pool (because there are no consequences for their actions since management doesn't seem interested in doing anything other than offering veiled threats that they never make good on), and are disrespectful towards other tenants.

The "amenities" are terrible. The grills are relatively inaccessible and are always dirty and coated with various ethnic food remains. The pool is fine. The "dog park" is a fenced in area about 20' by 30' and owners often forget to pick up after their dogs. Dog feces is actually somewhat of a problem throughout the complex. The "gym" is woefully underequipped and hard to use due to the lack of machines and demand. The playground was constructed for toddlers only and my children were not able to get any enjoyment out of the equipment.

Lately, the tenants at Auston Grove have become less than desirable characters. This is pretty much consistent with the management only being concerned with their bottom line. I fear for my safety and certainly do not walk around the complex by myself at night.

Good things about Auston Grove: the pool is nice if you like children, the units come with free cable and internet (that works most, but not all of the time), there is ample parking (just watch out for the glass in the parking lot), you can check out movies from their video library, packages are kept in the main office for safety, and the laundry room is good.

Overall, I would not recommend Auston Grove to anyone unless they simply couldn't afford anywhere else or there were no other alternatives. lGjq8RUBjvsZjkb5ueji

I can agree on staff not caring about tenants, because I have that problem where I live and that's why I was looking at the ratings for Austin Grove. However, the desription of the food, is a bit racist. What exactly is ethnic food? Food is food, and since I have been in NC for almost a year, it seems that everybody eats the same food. You should watch your choice of words if you want to be taken seriously. I actually was going to take your review into consideration until you made that racist statement. For future reference, use a better choice of words.
