I have lived in Auston Grove apartments for almost one year now with my boyfriend and we love it here. Every apartment complex is going to have their bad sides that no one can really help but your asking for it if you choose to live in apartments.
Outside is well-lit so you feel safe no matter what time you come home or leave. Landscaping is always neat and well kept. Floor plan is great(could get a lil more square footage for what we pay but oh well). Gym is busy any time after 5 or 5:30 but has good, newish, kept up machines. Pool is busy after 5 or 5:30 as well but they are always clean. New gas grills by the pool(never used them but they are there). Stairs going up to the apartments are squeeky but if your watching tv or something you will never notice. I have never seen or smelled dog poo. The maintenance guys are very nice, fast, and efficient. The office staff is extremely nice and friendly. The monthly letters are informative. The computer room/office has 2 computers and the seats are always filled with kids looking at their myspace page unless you go before 3pm, also has a fax machine and copier but due to kids printing random stuff you have to supply your own paper. The neighborhood behind the apartments seem nice, full of 2-story white houses but its really not so nice, its full of delinquent kids who come and use our playground and ride bikes and skateboards through the parking lot while messing with our vehicles once we are in bed just because they are bored. Some people drive a little too fast, maybe some mph signs to remind people that they're not on the highway anymore would help. Cable and internet is added into the rent for a flat rate of $49 a month and you can call TWC and add anything you want to it so we have digital cable, HD DVR box, and cinemax for an extra $30 a month. Our water bill has never been over $17 and our light bill has never been over $80. I have never seen a roach or mouse but during the summer they're alot of spiders and moths outside under the breezeway but never seen any in our apartment. I have never heard the girl that lives beside me but I do hear her dog every once in a while. The woman above us seems like she is made out of lead but we couldnt hear anything when the last tenants were there so Im pretty sure its just her. But overall I would recommend this place to my friends, my family and to you.
These are just my personal opinions and experiences that I am sharing with you just make your first choice wisely and don't get stuck in a sh*thole for a year or more, do your research.
