I moved in on a short-term lease(3months). They showed us all these nice, clean apartments with new carpet and updates. We decided to get a 2BR instead of a 1BR after looking at the price difference. It was dark and we told them it smelled funny and the carpet was filthy. We were told to just write it on our walk-thru paper. So we decided to move in and the next day realized we just moved in a placed that was once occupied by a dog because we all hard allergies. The carpet was actually filthy and ripped, the apartment was not cleaned, and there was a serious mold problem. Long story short, when we moved out they took a $55 cleaning fee from our deposit and was told we clean all the apartments after people move out, LIARS, LIARS. They are stinky LIARS, that take your money. So don't make the same mistake we made by cleaning the place from top tp bottom.

Its always so easy that when you don't get your way for something to try and place false blame on someone else. I feel bad for you both, and find it hard to believe that you moved into such "bad" apartments. Then why did you stay your whole lease. Let's see myself and 2 friends in the last 6 months moved in here, everything was as expected and my neighbor who had moved in after me, just had two of their FAMILY MEMBERS move in here. As far as I have been told they all love it as well. I wonder if your even talking about the same community here, the staff are the friendliest I have yet to meet, I went other places and they made me feel like I was only a sale and they didn't care about ME, but here I feel like they genuinely care. Well you moved out anyway so no worries anymore right!

I had come to NC via VA, 3 months before I purchased my house, to search for employment and this place let me move in asap. Yes, the staff was very nice and friendly. It's just when I moved out they told this lie about cleaning all the apts. before hand and they DON'T. I believe they made me repay for the cleaning I had them to do after I moved in. I was only on a 3 month lease and was hardly ever there. When I was there I had severe allergy problems. And yes, no worries anymore. The best of luck to you.

Being confined to the apt during the day, I have seen the staff cleaning,painting and even installing new carpet after move outs have occurred. My apt was just shampooed the day before I moved in and the whole apt was very clean. I sympahize with your allergies, but surely you can't blame the apartments for that! Better luck in your new place! :-)

Our carpet was pretty old and bad when we moved in too. Didn't smell at least, but was stained, cut and had bleach spots. We told them wanted a decent carpet and they basically said too bad, you're stuck with it. Also the mantle on our fireplace is falling off and they refused to fix it.
