Don't move here

I thought that Autumn Ridge was ok when I was shown the property, but I was wrong.
There are garbage bags from the repair staff various places throughout the property that have been there for quite some time. There are serious lighting problems in that very dark areas are present when going down some steps, making the stairways dangerous at night. The rails on the stairs are all rusted and corroded to the point that the edges are gone at the top and bottom of the rail. The risk of cutting yourself on a rusty, decayed edge either on your hand or on your foot if wearing fip-flops is very high.
I moved into a first-level apartment and not only is the noise level insane, but it wakes me up at 2AM every night. I have not slept a full night yet.
The property is pet friendly, but I did not think that I would have to live with the terrible odor of the previous pet in my apartment. The staff questioned if it was something that happened after I moved in and was reluctant to even think about fixing the problem. They still have done nothing about it.
When I moved in, I was given no move-in damages report and so I handed them a page-long list of things that needed to be fixed. When they fixed them, I found a note ON TOILET PAPER telling me, "completed work orders today" I could not believe it.
In addition, I was told by the person that showed me the property that I would have 30 days to move out if for any reason I would not like the property. I was so unhappy with the repairs, the smell, the noise, and the staff that I asked the manager about it moving out and she said they have no such policy; apparently, the girl that signed the lease with me lied to me.
In addition, when I signed my lease, a free IPOD was offered to people moving in that month. I did not get one because I was moving in the next month. When it was time for move in and I picked up my keys, they were offering IPOD nanos to new move-ins for the current month. I asked about getting my IOPD and they told me that because I signed the lease the previous month I did not get one. In addition, they told me that I got the move in deals for the month that I signed the lease, which is not true since I did not get an IPOD. The whole IPOD thing is a scam; I am interested to know if anyone gets one.

You know if you pass a gas station on Tuesday and gas is 2.11 a gallon and you choose not to stop. Then on Wednesday, you did stop to get gas and it was 2.35... you can't be mad. You choose not to stop on Tuesday. Like with any special there are always details. Like you must lease and move-in by XX-XX. Has this person never rented before? Well I live here and I absolutely love it... my neighbors are nice, my stairs are fine and having a dog myself... I always clean up after her. I wonder have they called the office to give them a chance to remedy the situation? Or are these people who like to complain and are never happy????? P.S. I did get an I-Pod Nano like 2 days after I moved in. |

I feel yr pain. We have people upstairs who think it is their right to blast us out with their loud crappy music at all hours of the night. We have called the office repeatedly about this problem, and they say they'll take care of it, but then nothing ever happens.

You said you have a dog, is she loud and bother the person below you? I bet she is, and it is not fair for the person below you to have to put up with that noise???just like people should not have to put up with loud music of neighbors, etc. Ha, I certainly understand the concept of sales, the problem is that when the reason you don???t get the deal changes when you speak to other management staff; that is when you know you get scammed. No bother there and I will totally accept the scam about the IPOD, I am sure you got one because you have connections. Let???s talk about something else: How about the smell that is still in my apartment, or the maintenance man entering my apartment in VIOLATION OF THE LEASE because I did not have 24hours of warning? How about the bags of garbage still in the stairways, or the ???repair??? of the rusted through railway that broke this weekend???is putting a metal twist tie on the rail when it needs to be replaced. How about using some of that pet deposit to make some needed repairs? Also, I asked about having safe lighting when I moved in, and it was just ignored, with the justification that, ???Nothing has happened here before.??? How can I believe that when other people that work at that apartment complex have lied to me? Calling the office to remedy these problems only fixes some???and I am tired of begging for the staff to do a through job. Some things do get done, and I applaud them for that, but all problems should be addressed. Is it too much to ask to live in a place that has no garbage around, is free of old pet odor, is safe at night, and won???t give me tetanus when I use the stair rails? Apparently it is, and it makes me someone that loves to complain. Huh. |

It's funny I just came across this website trying to show my friend they should move in. I was shocked at some of the things I am reading. I live here and I absolutely love it! My stairs are sturdy and clean, I mean its a given things get old in time and yes do need repair but as far as I have seen they do that here. I have been here for 6 months now and every maintenance request has been done, I even get a call sometime that week or the next making sure it was done right and I was happy! I have NEVER recieved that sort of service before! This makes me so angry to see someone write such harsh things about this property. For the money the apartment quality and service I seriously can't think of somewhere else that compares. I reciently visited a friend down creedmore at a property there, and I will admit its gorgeous, and when I told my friend I loved where they lived, they said that it "looks" nice but a ton of people including himself have had cars broken into and all sorts of other non-sense. Here I have always felt safe going home late at night or whenever. I never have a parking problem. And there are a TON of trash areas on the property that you can throw your stuff away, if someone is to lazy to do it, that's there problem, those are the type of people who need to leave here anyway. Also one of my friends moved in here last month and they were offered either a monetary discount or an IPOD and she took the IPOD guess what SHE GOT IT A WEEK LATER! Imagin that! And she has NO connections so I assume the person above didn't either. You are so ridiculous I think that maybe if you have such concerns go to the office they have always worked there hardest to make sure they can do the best they can for me. I will also tell them to about this site, I think they should look at the lies people are spreading. PS its an apartment community you will have some degree of noise, if you want straight silence buy a house and even then can't promise your neighbors won't through huge parties or have a dog they leave outside that cries all night. Everyone wishes there was a perfect world but one doesn't exist, however Autumn Ridge so far does everything they can to make the property as best they can.

I was cool with it until I found out how flimsy the flooring is and how easily noise is transmitted. I swear you can watch the floor bend when someone walks above you. And if you have a neighbor that's not considerate, you're screwed. Now, I'm not so thrilled. Wish I could afford to live somewhere better.

If you are not happy with your apt, MOVE. There are others here who are!! As for your inconsiderate neighbor upstairs, you don't have to be "screwed" as you so eloquently put it, but report it to the office and the offender will be sent a letter stating that they have been reported, and if it doesn't change, further action will be taken. I too, have such a neighbor, who has a large dog, who galloped across the floor shaking the globes on my chandelier. I reported it, the letter was sent, and no further problems to this day.
