The management just changed. We trepidatiously signed a new lease because we really don't have any other prospects at the moment, and moving is an absolute horror if you have more than minimal possessions. But the new management seems absolutely clueless and totally inexperienced and unprepared to deal with normal apartment issues. I really miss the old management.

They only raised the rent 10 bux so that's good. But I seriously doubt their ability to deal with problems now. We have a problem neighbor upstairs who is very rude, loud and inconsiderate at all hours, and the old management did try to deal with them. The new ones, I feel sure that we would be wasting our time and would just have to call the police if it gets bad enough. Which I will not hesitate to do.

I also notice that right before the old management left, the courtesy officer went away. First they stopped answering the pager with no explanation, then the pager just plain got turned off. To me this is not a good sign. Also the office no longer has Sunday hours.

The "internet cafe" is a joke. It has 2 coffee pots and 2 computers in a tiny room, plus a fax/copier that is always broken and never gets repaired. The pool is nice though and the fitness area is decent. So just get your own computer connection if you possibly can. The pet deposit is way high, but at least you can have a pet.

Power bills are high due to the glass doors that suck all your heat or AC out plus poor insulation. Kitchen appliances are small and old; bathroom sink is damaged; carpet isn't awful but should have been replaced. Bathrooms are large and generally nice however, and having washer/dryer hookups is a definite plus.

The floors are kind of serious.... I worry about the structural integrity and safety of the floors. They are very old and squeaky, transmit noise easily, and BEND easily! Sometimes I wonder if Bigfoot upstairs is just going to come crashing through and land in our living room. That is something that might have stopped me if I had known about it ahead of time.

Like everyplace, it just depends what you can afford. This is the best we can afford right now so we make do with it.

I also miss the old management. Remember the newsletters we used to get every other month keeping us posted on events, etc? I don't see any of the old maintenance staff anymore, either. The major complaint I have is these new dumpsters that have been here a couple of weeks now. If you don't get your trash out right after it's been emptied, you'll be lucky if you can find room for any more. I'm not sure if it's all tenant trash or if people in the nearby subdivision are emptying theirs there too. But I'm sure the new office personnel don't want to be bothered with such trivial matters.

Yes, I also have noticed the newsletters not going out. Also, I took me calling them to get my lease renewal notice out! Last year I had it a month and a half before I was scheduled to run out, this time I got it 3 weeks out!

I've also noticed what you said about the management. I miss Gary, who was the only person that worked on my apartment. He hasn't been around for a month and I'm thinking that he might of split town.
