Bad New Management

I also had huge problems with the new management. Loved the apartments and the area until they switched managment in Dec. 2005. After that point I spent a total of 3.5 weeks without hot water, some of which I had no water at all. At that point I was told that there was nothing I could do about it, and if I wanted hot water I had a stove, boil it. The new management was extremely rude and unhelpful and I actually had to go all the way up to the owners to be allowed to end my lease 3 months early because I didn't have hot water in January/February. I would not recommend this leasing company to anyone.

I know what you mean about the hot water. I asked to have some of the rent deducted because they kept on shutting off the water or having water problems and they said no. I had the option of taking a shower at an empty apartment. I go to work at 6AM. I was not about to comprimise my safety, plus who would be giving me a key to an empty apartment at 5AM? I wish they would be a little more picky about who they let in too. I am glad to know that you were able to get out of your lease. At least I know there is hope if I need to do the same.

Yeah, I had also asked for a pro-rated month for the 2 week period I was without water but they told me they did not do that under any circumstances. I'm glad that you were able to find another shower! When I asked to do the same they told me they couldn't allow that because all of the vacant apartments were at different stages of renovation and they had no way to know if the shower was available. I ended up driving to Wake Forest for a shower. At the end of the ordeal I had to file a city complain, because after all it is illegal to deny tenants access to hot water, and threatened a visit from "5 on your side" before they gave me access to the regional manager.
