Beware of the hidden charges

They are experiencing challenges renting the spaces, so they are hitting tenants up with maintenance fees to pay for upgrades. I left a clean apartment and received an invoice for an entire carpet... plus a $500 no return "pet fee". The apartments are very expensive anyway, and they look for any opportunity to add charges. In the middle of my stay, a water meter was added. All I can say is BEWARE.

Apartment living: there are good ones, and there are ones to stay away from, Beckanna for instance and others; and these are in so-called nice neighborhoods. You can find townhomes just as cheap to live in versus paying rent; that is what I did; and the quality of life was much improved compared to living at Beckanna-noisy, unsafe, unfriendly-unhelpful admin. You can investigate at apartmentrating.com. I don??????t mean to sound negative, but went through a bad time because of neighbors relevant to drugs and over-capacity so-to-speak, girl-friend beatings/crying noise. Management was un-responsive, and turn a "deaf-ear" to the situation. There are much better places to live.
The above is a response to someone who ask me about where to live apartment wise relevant to relocating to Raleigh: in short, stay away from Beckanna; and be aware of management postings re overatings.
