Not worth living here anymore ...

We have lived here for 3 years and while this place used to be fantastic, no so much anymore. It is become a renters nightmare and the leasing staff & management company does not care.
I live on a 3rd floor and my 1st floor neighbor chain smokes inside their house and out on their balcony. When they are smoking inside, the smoke smell comes in through the vents and crevices (nothing has helped). The worst is that they chain smoke outside on the balcony and it comes up through my windows. I can no longer open my windows or enjoy the beauty of my balcony. Management will do NOTHING and the people living there tell me it is my problem not theres. My daughter has suffered countless asthma attacks because of their rudeness. The only suggestion management offered was for me to move to another building - at my expense.
The parking is crazy, get home after 6pm on a weekday and anytime on the weekend and there will be NO parking. There needs to be assigned parking for residences and visitors. Why should I have to park half way across the complex at night, when a visitor can park right in front of my building'''
The only positive thing about this apartment complex is its close proximity to everything and the maintance man - he is AMAZING and the main reason we have stayed. A large majority of the apartments are empty and they are getting desperate. They overcharge the existing residents but deeply discount to the new residents, thus this place has become overrun by riff raff and unsavory people. No more quiet neighborhood with families.
We moved in 3 years ago and while they are renovating the empty apartments, NOTHING has been done to mine since I moved it. My carpets have never been cleaned, my appliances are old (my microwave is from 1994), and it is starting to show its age.
I would definitely look elsewhere, because Brookefield only cares about money, not about their residents. Such a shame since it was such a dream complex when we moved in, looking forward to my leasing being up.

We looked here before renting elsewhere a few years ago and sensed that this community was spiraling down.
