My wife and I were moving to Raleigh from Long Island, NY last year because 3 of our children had relocated to the area over the past few years. We did our due diligence before coming down in February 2008 to scout out the available apartments.

Basing our "look see" in part on the reviews posted here, we had NOT planned on looking at Cambridge. It just wasn't at the break point in which we were interested. A 50% or lower rating just wasn't going to be good enough.

However, on the next to last day of looking, we were driving past and decided to just take a drive-through (checking the looks of the place AND the cars in the lot). Good thing we did. The grounds were well maintained, and we could see the pool and play facilities ie: volleyball court, tennis/basketball, and gas grills in several spots throughout the grounds. So we decided to check further.

The gentleman who showed us around was extremely pleasant and willing to endure our "grilling" with good humor. He explained the terms thoroughly, inquired about OUR needs and finally supplied us with all the necessary paperwork.

So we came home to LI with several choices available to us. After several phone calls south, we finally decided to take a chance on Cambridge. Ignoring the unfavorable reviews here, we had the sense that Cambridge was what we really were looking for.

We have just recently signed our second term. Those stories on this site about parking' Don't know where they came from. There is ample parking with several Handicapped slots scattered around the property.

Everyone in the front office has been nothing short of friendly and always ready to listen. I have not encountered anything resembling a negative attitude in Cambridge's office.

They even hold several parties throughput the year. We have just attended our second annual pool party, catered and with live entertainment, games ,and prizes. At the end of this month is our wine and cheese tasting party.

As far as maintenance is concerned, the couple of minor items I had to call about were handled within an hour or two. Heck, they even supplied me with a light bulb for the recessed lighting in our hallway, when all I asked was the size of the bulb, since I was going to buy it myself.

Smartest move we could have made.
