Ok ... had maintenance issues

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
Stayed here for two years full 12 month and signed a partial lease on my third year. My apt was fine, the outside and area are a good attraction and they are close to everything (mall, walmart, briar creek etc.). The only problem I had was with maintenance I continually had things break in my apartment. It first started with my ac I noticed that my carpet was brown and then noticed that it was wet. I had not spilled anything on the carpet so I sent in a service request. Come to find out my ac unit had leaked so they had to bring in huge industrial fans to blow the carpet dry. My ac is near my coat closet so they had one fan that was suppose to dry the small walk way from the coat closet and then turn the corner and dry the coat closet. I asked them about this and they told me that when the fans were done drying the walk way put it in front of the closet. Basically I had to run this one fan for 3 days straight.. so you can imagine my electricity bill. After the first day I put it back in front of my closet and let it dry in there. I left the fans on but somebody from the office came in and took the fans b/c apparently my carpet was dry .. A few months letter my sealing started to get these brown stains above the AC unit. I asked them to find out why b/c there was no way I could even reach that high and they told me that the apt above had leaked so the water was staining my ceiling. I had them come paint my sealing b/c it was very unattractive. The lock on my front door jammed twice, they had to come in and pretty much tear up the lock so that I could lock my apartment door, it was fixed but it wasn t a pretty site. I stayed on the first floor so I had numerous bugs which I asked them to come spray for numerous times. I made sure to keep anything off the floor and to clean up b/c at first I thought it was my problem but I sound realized it wasn t me. One day I just decided to go into my coat closet, which I never used and noticed that there was a freaking plant growing on the wall. Apparently my AC had leaked again in my closet and the carpet was infested with mold and there were plants growing . I was soooo pissed. They had to come rip out the carpet and put in new carpet dry that carpet A complete mess and heath hazard. I did receive 300 dollars off of my rent b/c that was like the 5th issue I had with my AC. Finally the biggest problem . Year 2, I was laying in bed and all of sudden heard this stream of water. I started freaking out thinking somebody broke into my house and was taking a shower. I jumped up and say a stream of water coming from the celing fan/vent! It was about 7:00am on a Sunday morning so I called the service line and the lady on the phone could even hear the water. They sent somebody but he didn t arrive until about 30 mins later in the mean time I m empting TRASH CANS full of water. By the time I woke up and realize the water was coming down it had already wet the entire bathroom floor, the carpet in the bathroom (by the way why is there even carpet in there) and the linen closet carpet floor. He finally came and got the water to turn off and then called a carpet cleaning coming to come suck up the water and dry the carpet. Once again my good ol trusty friend industrial fan was brought back in to dry my bathroom carpet and closet. All of these events happen over the past three years so they were spaced out. Overall everything was fixed but if they had preventive measures in place a lot of these things would have never happen.
I also stayed close to the event room or whatever you called it near the pool. If they assigned you a apartment be sure to check out where it s located so that you won t get anywhere near this room. People partied until 3am most times and they were very loud! I also couldn t stand when that damn pool opened either , nobody respected the rules and would be out there all times of the night but that was just a pet peeve of mine. The parking was tight!! I have so many dings and dents on my car b/c they have the smallest parking spaces and watch out for the millions of kids that roam and run all around at all times of the day! The only reason I stayed was for the area, how close it was to things and I didn t want to move. I was all set to move the third year but they gave me this unbelievable rent decrease that I could not pass up!
Overall it s a decent apartment, the rent is high but compared to where I am staying now the paying extra money for a nice gym, online rent paying and service request was worth it. I had a decent experience with them and would consider renting there again if I was assured the apt was up to standards maintenance wise.
