I've lived here for six months, and until this month, I was satisfied with this property. I really like my apartment, but if the price I'm going to pay to live in a nice apartment is having them withdrawing money from my checking account without my authorization, and then taking almost 20 days to reimburse it, I'm not interested.
This is the story: They sent all the tenants a letter at the beginning of the month saying that the automatic draft service was not going to be available this month and asking us to bring a check for our rent this month to their office. So, I brought my check on the 3rd. The 10th I was reviewing my bank account online and, surprise!, their automatic draft service worked this month and they withdrew money there (also around the 3rd) and in addition they had my check payed. So I pretty much payed twice as much as I should pay in rent this month. I called immediately and the promised that they would redeposit that money in my account. That was 10 days ago and I still don't have my money. They have given me more than a million excuses. They told me they couldn't cut me a check because they didn't have checks yet (''''). Apparently the property just changed owners (they never told us that) and they don't have their checks yet.... What kind of serious business starts without even having their financial accounts set before starting' I really don't believe a word of what they say anymore. Fortunately I have asked them to give me all of what they had told me in the last days in written, in case I need to go to court to get my money back. They finally told me on Friday that if my money wasn't showing in my account that day they would cut me a check today (Monday). They said they could give me a check today because they finally received their checks today (again, what kind of company starts doing business without having their checks for at least 20 days') And of course, I have to wait for them to Fedex it because their main office is in Greensboro and that's where the checks are. I've lost many hours of work, in addition to the money I have to spend doing long distance calls every half hour and my gas coming here and going back to work. I've had headaches all week, I have already overdrafts in my checking account, and I haven't even been offered the slightest compensation for all this, not even a true appology. I can't wait for my contract to end so that I can move out of here.
