I've read a lot of complaints about Cary Towne Park and while yes, there are some morons who can't pick up after their dogs and yes, the gates are broken half the time, I've lived there for 6 mos and intend to renew my lease at the end of the year.
Aside from having an awesome location (it's convenient to everything--I-40, Crossroads, etc.), I love my apartment. The windows are huge, the applicances are brand new, you get a free washer/dryer, and there's a garden tub in my bathroom.
Whenever I've had a maintenance request (maybe 3-4 since I moved in), the problem was addressed and corrected the very same day. It's a great place for young professionals, though be warned, there are a bunch of NC State students living there (don't listen to mgmt who will tell you they only have a handfull of grad students), but I've never had a problem with any of them except for the kid who recently moved in above me and sounds like he's playing Dance Dance Revolution 24/7.
If you move here, try and push for a unit on the side of the complex with the tennis court--that way you're on the side with the dumpster and 2 gates to use.
