Here's the good and the bad:

GOOD
1) The place is pretty quiet. I would say that most of the residents are students but it's definitely not party city like the other popular university apartments. Rarely did you see parties here.
2) The grounds are nice. I would walk my dog around and it's really scenic with the greenery and the little creek in the back.
3) Maintenance was always prompt. I only had a few minor maintenance problems but the guys would always come that very day to fix it.
4) Parking is ideal. There was always plenty of parking so that you wouldn't have to walk too far from you car to your building.
5) It's close to everything. It's about a block from a Food Lion and very conveniently located near campus.

THE BAD
1) I lived on the first floor and it always smelled like old apartment (a mildew smell). I kept my apartment very clean but could never rid my apartment of it smelling like this. I tried so many different things: Febreeze, candles, incense, sprays, Glade plug ins, bleach, etc.
2) The A/C is very loud. At least in my apartment it was. I couldn't hear the tv whenever it was on.
3) While the grounds are pretty, people allow their 80 lb. dog to take a gigantic dump in the grass and don't pick it up so watch where you step!
4) There are some shady people that hang out the complex. Most of these people aren't residents from what I can gather but they cut through the complex on the way to the busstop. I have seen the same shady people walk and loiter around on more than one occasion.
5) Theft was a problem when I lived there. I left to go on vacation and when I came back my rocking chair and flowerpot were stolen from my porch. My neighbor told me that there had been a wave of theft going on at that time. So don't leave your stuff on your porch if you're away.

Overall, I'd recommend this apartment for a student looking for a decent community for a good price. But if you're a young professional or family, I'd go spend my money elsewhere.
