I lived at Cottages on Grant from June, 2005 through May, 2008. In those three years, I cannot really say I have any complaints about the staff or the timeliness in getting repairs done. They are wonderful, quaint older apartments and have some great architectual detail--pillars dividing the living room from the dining area, built in shelving, a couple of glass cupboards in the kitchen and lots of storage space. It is a very quiet neighborhood and the only time I heard my neighbors was when their washer was off balance. They have hardwood floors, so hearing people walk with shoes is to be expected, but certainly not an issue. There is a lot of cleaning to do at move-out, but if you keep the place up, it's not that bad. I received my entire deposit back and I am going to miss living there. I would suggest that the owners consider replacing or at least re-glazing the windows. My attic was well insulated, and I never paid a gas bill over $85 or a electric bill over $90, despite the window situation. If you like the funkiness and old time charm, this is the place for you. It is hard to beat the price inside the beltline for the size of the place.

OMG!!!! Did you EVER meet the owners???? They are known through out the community as the biggest rip-offs and Mr.Yelverton is a con man. His wife cooky Kakie is his partner in crime! I find it very amusing that all the previous reviews are gone and only one left on here! They must have had to pull one of their snake in the grass tricks to get all those bad reviews off their site! And believe me, there was ALOT of them! The place is old and falling apart. It actually looks like it should be Section 8 housing.
