I've lived here for more than a year and it keeps getting worse. When I moved in, I asked about the crime rate and the staff intentionally tried to dodge the question (which should have thrown up all sorts of red flags), then a couple of months later my car is stolen and the police mention that it's a regular occurance here (great eh').

After a few quiet months, someone punches pin holes into the sidewall of my tires rendering them useless and requiring replacement. When I confronted the manager about my concerns (stolen car, vandalism, etc...) she informed me that they had a off-duty corrections officer patrol the lots. When I asked what time his rounds started, she couldn't tell me (which says a lot about her credibility). I let them know that I shouldn't have to keep one eye on my apartment and the other on the car just to prevent damage to MY property. If there is a problem, they should deal with it and not make excuses.

My problem is that the management knows that the problem is there, but they have done nothing about it, since according to them "your safety is not our responsibility". Which is unacceptable, since this area is their property and we pay them to live here. I guess keeping your tenants satisfied/safe isn't a top concern.

If you are willing to keep reading, there are some other issues you would probably want to know about.

1. The building materials are second rate and the build quality is shoddy. When moving in, I had to get maint. to come in a use foam tape to seal all of the exterior doors that were not square or uneven.

2. The sliding closet doors are not aligned, which makes using them a pain, since they will come out of their tracks.

3. The paint job leaves something to be desired. There are walls in my apartment that have debris i.e. hair and dirt mixed in with the paint.

4. The closet doors are mounted improperly, as the hinges should have been mounted on the right side, but they weren't so the door swings out to the left, which blocks your access to the light switch and causes the bedroom door will hit the closet door.

5. No insulation in the walls and the windows are single panes which lets the heat or cold come right in. I realize that I should have known this (which I do now), but I want others to get a heads-up beforehand.

6. Make sure the apartment is clean before you move in, since mine was not i.e. dirt caked all over the celing fans (the dust was so thick that I had to scrub with cleaner to even make a dent), HUGE dirtballs in the vents, HVAC unit was disgusting and very dirty, lineoleum and carpet were VERY unclean since I vacuumed before I moved in and all sorts of construction debris came out after multiple passes.

7. The phone system is bonkers, since my phone line seems to cross with everyone else in the building and I can hear their conversations and I bet they can hear mine. It doesn't bode well for security. The line has so much noise on it that I had to drop my internet provider since the modem could never connect. The management didn't believe me when I told them (surprise, surprise) and it took the threat of legal action to get them to accept responsibility (it still hasn't been fixed).

8. They have an expanding pipe or loose electrical connection somewhere that creates this thumping buzzing sound in multiple rooms. Since it hasn't destroyed anything, they won't do anything about it.

9. The water company they contract with is crooked and they will try to overcharge you for services that you didn't use. Make sure you watch your water useage like a hawk, since they will try to charge you more than your fair share every month.

10. Some genius decided to install the alarm panel in the kitchen instead of the area right beside the door, so that when you walk in, you have to dash into the kitchen to disarm the alarm. Pretty useless and it's different in the smaller apartments.

What I don't get is why people keep moving in.

Don't live here if you can help it, there are much better neighborhoods to choose from.
