Better Business Bureau says "Unsatisfactory" and so do I

I can't tell you how glad I am to have moved out of this place. My boyfriend and I lived in Cumberland Cove for over two years, collecting over 20 separate maintenance issues along the way (some were still unresolved at the time we moved out). If it wasn't the air conditioning it was the plumbing, appliances, or shoddy materials used in the "decor".

Be wary, the Better Business Bureau gives them an unsatisfactory rating for just this reason. Just go to http://search.bbb.org/search.html and do a search on Cumberland Cove Apartments, they're the only listing by that name. The office staff was never of any help to me, though I unfortunately got to know the maintenance department guys by name due to the frequency they visited my apartment.

Take the advice of the Better Business Bureau, and of almost everyone else posting here, and look elsewhere when renting. There are thousands of apartments available in Raleigh, probably all of which have better service and construction than Cumberland Cove.

Edit: To the people who have good reviews about their apartments (barring the staff that occasionally post positive advertisment "reviews" here while posing as tenants), there is more than one "Phase" of construction on the property. The difference between the newer buildings and the older buildings is like night and day. Literally. The older buildings are dark inside ("affectionately" known as Cumberland Cave), often damp, cheaply built and maintained, and are overall a miserable place to live. These make up a good percentage of Cumberland Cove, and are on the half of the property that people have the most problems with. Unfortunately, the office staff takes care of "customer service" for both halves of the property, so you can't escape their attitudes even if you pay more for your rent to live in one of the "newer" buildings.
