Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I relocated from out of town for my job last year. I had one day to find an apartment and didn't know anyone in North Carolina. So I took the only 1-bedroom that would be available which was on the first floor. The appliances were very old and the carpet was stained.I could hear everything the elephant that lived above me did and said.
About 5 months after I moved in I came home one night to my alarm going off and found my ex-boyfriend waiting inside. He had broken in by simply lifting my bedroom window and breaking it. I filed a police report and restraining order and gave it to the mngmt.office and asked if I could transfer apartments so he wouldn't know where I lived and I wouldn't be on the ground floor. They said I would have to pay back all of the recessions and switch to a 2-bedroom causing my rent to raise over $200.
I couldn't afford that so I never opened my windows, blinds, screen door for more than a minute because I was scared and when I did I had to listen to the elephant talk about eating chicken wings on her phone. I never complained and always paid my rent on time. Once I left my ceiling fan on while I was at work because we were warned not to let the apt. get to hot and the elephant called and complained it was too loud (This is the same elephant who never came down or called the police when my apt. was broken into and alarm was blazing). The mngmt. office called my on my cell.phone at work to tell me about it and finally decided to let me move to a new 1 bedroom if I would re-sign a 12 mo. lease. Guess a whiny resident justified it more than my safety.
So now I am in a second floor apt. where I have had the dishwasher fixed 5 times and it still doesn't wash. I would guess it was made in the early 80s. The mtx. guy told me if his last repair didn't work that it may need to be replaced. The new property manager left me a vociemail saying they could find nothing wrong with it and suggested I try "CASCADE" dishwashing detergent. Uhhhh...maybe it has just reached it's life expectancy. Constant struggle and I am trapped until June!
P.S. The jacuzzi and "spa" have never been open in the 14 months I have lived here and both pools were shut down a couple of times over the summer.
