This resident complained so often that we called a third party contractor to evaluate the HVAC unit. They found the unit to be fine and in working order. The electricity bill was elevated due to 1.) Temperature being set at 70 degrees 2.) An 18% rate increase from Progress Energy 3.) The average daily temperature has also been considerably low for this winter season. Unlike those who like to post "anonymously", we are happy to let you know this responce comes directly from the Cumberland Cove Management Office.

So it's considered as the ghetto b/c your bill was too expensive? okay. And most apartments aren't well insulated.

I'd be PISSED if my electric bill was $180 for a 2-bedroom. Right now I get mad if my bill is $125 for a 4-bedroom HOUSE....

Our electric was no where near that amount for a 2 bedroom there. Maybe it was because we were on the third floor though. Maybe also because we moved from the north with harsher winters. I rarely needed the heat on during the winter.

I'm currently in cumberland cove, in the older buildings. My electric was consistently 60-80 per month during spring/fall - that includes heating/cooling/hot water/ electricity. VERY CHEAP. Now that it's mid-summer in the july august heat, my bill is up to about 110 because of air condition. Still not too bad. I would assume the tennants complaining were heating/cooling excessively or did not know how to turn off lights/electrical devices/ or used too much hot water. Just my two cents.
